What Randy said. That s called the seventh mount, and was factory equipment on 288s, helped to stiffen things up when running longer bars. Oh, and HOORAY 288!

The ones you're showing there suck. Little to no direction.

I put the jug on already. I didn't take any pics after I cleaned up the casting flash and smoothed things out. Also I blended the lip on the bottom of the tunnels. There is quite a step even on the oem jug

@Redfin , looks like you ported that gas sprayer. A thought came to mind that may/may not help. I was told not that long ago while having a discussion about carburetors, that the polish on the inside was very important to its functioning properly. Not really sure as to why this is, or what it does, but I can say that the fellow I was converting with knows his stuff and would not pull my leg. It was not the main topic that day but was mentioned, so I did not think to ask any more about it Maybe someone else can elaborate further possibly.
