Finished up the 210 but the aftermarket farmertech cylinder kit was a big fat 0. Installed the cylinder and only had 100psi with new cylinder, piston, rings, bearings, and seals. It would crank but bogged badly in the cut with no rpm. Installed the oem cylinder with the AM piston/ rings and presto!! 145psi and cut like a champ. Im not sure if the timing may have been out on the cylinder as I didnt check but 1 obvious thing I saw was the huge slot cut out toward sparkplug in the combustion chamber. Maybe the bore was out of round or something20161126_170236.jpg20161126_165817.jpg 20161126_165749.jpg

Testing coils with a Merc-O-Tronic 98 tester.

Using CD adapter to test modulated coil in the saw. This one's a dud. A coil like this one can give you the fits as it makes spark, even jumps a 5mm gap, but will not keep the saw running. Will start but then run out of gas so to speak. Tested in this manor though it failed miserably and made quick work of trouble shooting.

Using just the 98 to test prospective "points type" coil before installation with NOVA II module. This one passed. It should work great when it's modulated.

So yesterday dissection of the 441 661 coughed up some parts and thats about it,, both crushed pretty bad.
Now on to today's morts,, the one on the right fired up after 3 pulls,, quite noisey , did some digging, one clutch spring had come off, so the saw now starts runs quiet and oils,, but its got a big air leak somewhere. The one on the left has a scored piston, not too bad,, both saws freebies last spring, and somewhere I have a box of decent plastics I bought in PEI this summer,,,

Hoping you fellas can help me trouble shoot something. I rebuilt and ported this echo 900evl. It was running great but now it dies as soon as it's pointed forward (bar down). Doesn't rev up just dies. I rebuilt the carb (gaskets and float only) and vac/pressure tested every part of the saw together and separately. Only leak I can find is through the choke shaft. Couldn't find any breaks in the kill switch wire either. I'm not very savvy with carb issues, could it be the small choke shaft leak?. Any ideas? Thanks.

might be tuned to fat on the low end... fuel tends to puddle in carb then when its tilted it tends to flood out... just one quick idea...

Thanks. I'll definitely investigate that.
