It's looking really good. Decent saw, especially being a super! I worked on both an 038 and 038 Super and preferred the super between the two.

My problem with the purty ones is that I feel bad about running them. Looks good to me…now it just needs a port job and a 42” bar.

Got my 36” .404 on it now… but would love to have a 42-52ish bar for my 48” mill rails! I’d like to tickle it a bit after I use it for a little while.

I ended up buying a rebuilt 038 super for my buddy this past spring. I actually liked how the saw ran even not being a stihl guy myself. He did mention my 272xp was lighter though haha.
