Echo cs 4910

Had 1 hr. epileptic seizure with a burr grinder. Sealed the cylinder down with hylomar blue. Got that hylomar sht in my hair, on my face, and in my nose when I went to pick a booger full of metal chips. Cleaned my hands off with old gas and had a bag of doritos. I did lick the cheese off my fingers and could taste a little hylomar blue.

14200 rpms burblin rich and burble cleans up in the cut. 12000 rpms in 16 in diameter birch.

Goes something like that every time I work on a saw. That's some strong numbers. Know what it was doing before?

No sir, was new outta the box. My last 4910 was stock and wasn't a strong saw. Trying to get the silly thing to hang with a cs 520 or cs 530.

Coupla swipes off the rakers, she settled into 11,400 rpms but the cut was quicker. Stihl 23rs pro 20 inch narrow kerf oregon bar.

Next up will be a cs 6700 type 1e and a cs 670. All the parts came in.

Fresh seals, koyo 6202 bearings, rings and all rubber parts. Will do the usual grinding on the ports, base gasket delete, carb rebuild, ignition advance and hog out the mufflers.

Both ran before tearing them down.

Have you ever tried bigger carbs on any of them?

Yes sir. The cs 8000 got the HDA 45 carb and the cs 680 style cartridge filter. Had to open it up the plastic intake so that the hda 45 choke would open. Much larger carb. The cs 8000 and 800p the carb is too small. Hda 45 on the right 153b on the left:

Say goodbye to that silly flapper filter as well. Tunes up 13800 rpms. Burble cleans up in cut on large trees but the rich burble is still prevalent in small wood. I like to keep the saw a little rich.

The stock carbs on the 670 and 6700 feed just fine and tune up at 14k rpms. Though a larger carb placebo effect might exist on youtube.

whats it chambered in

Nothing sexy; just .308. Has a Timney trigger, 22" Faxon RemAge MTU profile barrel, MDT field stock, Vortex 6x24.

I'd like to upgrade to an aftermarket receiver; that's the only factory part of the rifle now. Since I kept all the other parts, I can reassemble those and have my original .308 again...
