A suspected air leak where I accidentally drilled a hole into the case. This guy said he uses this instead of yamabond, motoseal ...............
I wonder if JB Weld would be a better option since I would assume it would harden more than that RTV gasket maker.

According to him this stuff is as permanent as you want it to be. Stays flexible but doesn't let go. High heat and fuel resistance. He says it's the only thing he's found that works to keep the exhaust pipes sealed to cylinders on old bikes.

Sign of success! Been awhile since I've been on the bench troubleshooting and building. Feels good to get her right. Was chasing a ghost on a 162se and turned out it was the oil pump o-ring. The one ya can't get to with the bubbles. I use windex, it seems to bubble good with an air leak. Been using it fixing tires my whole life. New OEM o- ring and I'm moving forward.💪20250322_224338.jpg20250322_224344.jpg

I bought one for 130.00 last week and would sell it for 75.00 today. After tearing down 2 xpg's, I learned that I don't want to work on this generation of saws.
Dang it. I just ordered the last one dukes had on sale last nnight after seeing @Woodwackr post....

I used to machine HD output shafts and custom housings for the Dana 20s... I had to fabricate a skidplate/case protector/girdle because with Big power and big tires if you didn't, it would split those cases in half. I then went with a 203/205 doubler in my mudder/play rig and in my crawler I used a D300 with a tera low kit...
Sooo glad I don't mess with Jeeps and buggies anymore. With that said, I'm looking for a 68-72 Nova, Camaro, etc etc shell... what's out there.

I started off wrenching in the mid-80's with 67-69 Camaros. I don't miss the days of crawling around on the dirt floor in our pole shed in hot and humid Pearl River, LA.

I'm been wrenching on crew cab diesel duallies, heavy equipment and 4x4's for the past several years, but I need to get back to my roots and buy another classic Shivverlay to beat on.

Never used maxima gold. I have know idea if it’s mixed or straight.

That is one thing I really don't like about the Stihl HP Ultra. It is a pale green and does not miss the color of some straight pump gas by much. Looks like they could have made it blue, red, anything else.

Yessir, I hear that! I spent many hot sweaty days in the VA heat under my rigs and many cold days and nights working on vehicles in Upstate NY. Slowly, I'm working back towards the hotrods and big trucks.

One year old DeWalt pressure washer for a pump replacement. Started at 10:15 this morning, pump swap only took about 30 minutes with hand tools. Then proceed to "break it in" for the customer. Washed the curb, driveway, and stoop. I just came inside and cracked a beer.

Got my first Homelite. This Zip came from eBay as kinda unknown besides having compression. It barked off a prime so I threw some soft parts in the carb and a new fuel line from tank to carb and she's a runner. Seems like it was fairly well cared for before being put up.
