More of an on the tailgate….going to put crank bearings and seal in the ms250, he wants it running in trade for the other saws. The 064 he bought new in 88, he was a faller, still had great compression, but is going to need a handle IMG_2083.jpegIMG_2084.jpegIMG_2085.jpeg

Full house tonight. D44 has decided it won't pump fuel anymore, not sure what that's about but I found a more correct carb kit to order. Also figured out the clutch sprocket is too worn to run so it's probably gonna end up in time out while that is located.

1-42 got new fuel lines from Mr. Heimann.

The Zip is just up there so I don't trip over it, fired on the second pull tonight.

I have spur and rim type drums to fit you D-44 when you get to that phase of the project. I think the spur are all .404 and 7/16" pitch, I don't remember any 3/8" spur drums for the large frame saw.

Sears (Roper) D-44. If it was for a Mac it'd be a lot easier to find.

1979 028 on the bench now. Cool old saw. Minor cleaning and rebuild. Will be a lot better than when it came in :p. Was running a 20”, 3/8 b/c. Will swap to .325/18” for the small cyl/pis. Fabbed up a chain catcher but can’t add a chain brake. O well.

I picked up this early metal tank 028 last Summer, just sold it to my BIL a few weeks ago. It was in really nice shape and ran very well.... ;) 20240719_090741.jpg20240719_090752.jpg

I bought one for 130.00 last week and would sell it for 75.00 today. After tearing down 2 xpg's, I learned that I don't want to work on this generation of saws.
If you still have the tool I will buy if your serious about selling, have 2 562’s to work on.

Yep. The BP1 is a cat of a different color.
I was at a tractor show in KS with a group from OPE. I ran into an older guy and started talking about saws; he said he did research for McCulloch and worked on the BP-1. I told him to follow me. I took him to Alan (RIP my friend) and showed him his running BP-1. Alan let him run it and they talked saws---way over my head. The guy was happy as could be. Good times...

Sears saws and Lauson carbs. The gear drive is a fresh find. Rolled in with no spark, usual gross carb, oiler seems stuck too which is odd for a thing that sits in a tank of oil

Pretty sure old boy that was running the 647G was following the manual about using 30wt for mix oil.
