Looks very much like a McCulloch, but not a McCulloch D-44. That is a cool looking saw!
It is a neat piece for sure. They also weren't kidding about the "lightweight" on the top cover. I threw it on the scale for fun, 21" hard nose bar, but no chain and it's within ounces of my 026 with a 20" Tsumura. Pretty impressive for a 70cc saw especially when you consider the era it came from.

Bounced some info and pics off my buddy that works on power equipment for a living and we figured out the carb is pretty similar to a newer Tecumseh, ordered a handful of parts that hopefully fit and get it running on its own. Carb is pretty clean but the soft parts are very dried out.

I start the small engine for the first time with the carburetor uncovered, so I would block the air intake to immobilize it / It is better not to use this on large engines 😉
