Sears saws and Lauson carbs. The gear drive is a fresh find. Rolled in with no spark, usual gross carb, oiler seems stuck too which is odd for a thing that sits in a tank of oil

Pretty sure old boy that was running the 647G was following the manual about using 30wt for mix oil.

Or, just straight 30w, lol

It's definitely just the 30wt now, the gas evaporated a long time ago. That carb is like new under the schmoo though.
028, 1979 model. I don't think the carb has ever been removed. Cleaned up nice...kit ordered cuz I don't have any for a Tilly HU40A, lol

Spent way too much time getting the preload right on a Dana 20 transfer case for the '69 Bronco project. I probably pressed the bearing off and on half a dozen times, but got it right in the middle of the spec at 5 inch pounds.

Then I realized my shift rails were boogered up.

IMG_3209.jpg

I had to disassemble one of my spare transfer cases to harvest the shift rails but those weren't any better.

IMG_3208.jpg

Also fired up the grinder and sharpened a bunch of chisels - Proto for the shop and Chinese stuff for the home garage. Dressed up my brass drifts while I was at it.

A nice little 180 in for cleaning and adjustments.
Modded the muffler, dressed bar, sharpened chain, adjusted carb, cleaned.

Waiting for parts on the 028. Made a chain catch, added chains I had to the fill caps (both missing) AVs replaced, rebuilt recoil.1000011055.jpg 1000011091.jpg

Well, seems photobucket is not an approved site. So, ya'll have fun with it.
You can upload pictures right from your phone of PC as longs as they are sized right.

You don't need a separate hosting site to upload pictures here.. 👍👌

Picking at the 647G some more. Drained the molasses out of the oil tank and got the pump freed up. Couldn't roll the chain by hand either way. This is just some of the trash out of the bar groove. Flushed some clean oil through and it's happy now, should be ready to cut once my carb parts show up.

Is that a steel weight on the floor under the grinder?

True I'm sure. But, trying to use an Iphone on the internet aggravates me. Seems like every time I touch it I end up somewhere else on some ad.

I am working on a Husky 372 from work and was confused about the little o-ring that goes over the crank on the clutch side. I found another 372 at work in the junk pile that had that portion still together, so I took it home as a reference. I got the first Husky completed and together, then I looked at the second 372 and thought that I might have enough junk pieces in a box of parts to get it back together and working. So far the base unit looks to be in good shape, just dirty. I have pulled everything off and split the case. One bearing was a little crusty so it will get replaced along with the oil seals. I have two cylinders to work with, one has some scoring/transfer that will take some work to clean up, the other is clean, but has boogered up spark plug threads, I may try my hand at thread repair here. I found a piston on my desk that needed to be cleaned up really good and little filing to get the rings to freely move in one spot. I should have a muffler to use, and will rob the oiler system off of a 365 crank case I also grabbed from the junk pile. I have a recoil from the junk box and have already gotten it cleaned up, will need to look in the junk pile again for a clutch cover and front handle bar.

Looks like the only thing I will have to buy is a set of oil seals and possibly a decomp/plug, I am hoping to get the rest from junk pieces. If I can get this one running it will be the 5th saw I rescued from the junk!!

Second 372 - what I have to start with
