I stripped down my grandpa's old 10-10 so I can get a complete parts list for my uncle since he's asked me to have it powdercoated/restored, and I'm re-visiting my milling chains after they produced more smoke than chips the last time I used them. It turns out that each of the rakers only needs about 22-26 swipes in order for them to be set right! I probably should have paid more attention to them when I was converting the chains last year.....

Got my father-in-law's 365 on the bench for its first tune up since he bought it in the 90's. He keeps it down at our hunting camp and I attempted to use it this past weekend. Boy what a mess. I had to hear 3 times, "I bought that saw brand new back when I built this place, best saw I've ever owned, haven't had to do a thing to it", and I couldn't help but think every time, "yea including any basic maintenance " haha. Still has the original filter and I'm not sure, but I think there were ribs in the under side of it at one point. It's packed solid! Needless to say I'll be ordering some new parts for it. They're getting there, but not quite yet. A year back I had a friend ask me to mill out some beams for him and I was frantically (and frugally) acquiring and assembling all the gear within two days so I took 4 pretty worn and badly rocked chains and put a milling grind on them to get the job done. I have only used my mill 3 times since I was given it so I'm thinking I'll run these till they lose some teeth, then I'll either buy a few milling chains or I'll convert a few more chains. Three years ago a new 36" square ground chain cost me $60 at my local shop, spending $200+ on chains that I'll only use once or twice a year isn't really worth it in my book.

It absolutely does. All in all it's still in great shape for a going-on-30 year old saw. It gets very light use, maybe a handful of times a year to clear some downed trees off the four-wheeler trails in the woods, or to cut up a tree that fell in the yard around camp. I haven't put a tester on it but no need really, just pulling it over slowly shows its still STOUT on compression. With a little tlc it will be good as new.

For sure I just put a 100" inch bar on it with 404 and noodled petrified wood, all 100 inches burried!

335 I got in a package with a 272.
Didn’t come with a coil.
AM coil. Noticed the back post was partly stripped but went with it anyway until after about a tank through it died while sideways. Wouldn’t start but would catch/fire and not run

fastener wobbled out some and lost contact. Glad, because I thought I had burnt the coil already.

Quick helicoil. much better spark.
