I re-organized my bench after the bolt bin was re-homed, and I used the opportunity to set up a chest of drawers to keep my tools in instead of a bunch of junk cylinders. To celebrate my reorganized bench I assembled the 192T I got from @Stevetheboatguy and test fired it. Once it was purged it took three pulls for it to pop, two more pulls and it's a runner! Even the tune sounds pretty good! IMG_0598.JPG IMG_0599.JPG IMG_0606.JPG

361 for a new tank/handle. Customer supplied a new aftermarket one. Need to pick up a new rim and a few screws tomorrow after work.

I went thru 5 or so flippy caps to finally find one that would seal on the aftermarket
tank.
Would go OEM next time.

What are you doing for work these days Rogue? Mechanic?
I've done the hard yards am at a stage I don't have to bust my ass working like a robot anymore. After getting out of the timber industry did a few years at a car/4x4 dealer learnt a lot especially with painting. Got my fingers in a few pies do mechanical work and some farm work here and there at a seedling place easy work good money. Did some time at a stihl dealer as a small engine mechanic thought I'd lean something I didn't already know meh dodgy walked away from that lol
When I'm setup better I'll no longer be selling my time to anyone be 100% doing my own thing.

A 33-year-old mower works like a watch / had to spend a lot of life in the garage. I am looking for an air filter because it is larger than the current ones and has dimensions of 160x115mm

Got the 25 light on the 7310p today. Had two 85 drive link chains made up at the local store and they fit great. Plug for the decomp valve came in yesterday, so I swapped it out with the decomp and let it rip. Much to my chagrin, the two washers that came on it aren't worth a crap and leaked worse than the valve after running for about 1 minute. :rolleyes:20220503_171701.jpg

The orange ducts are silicone and move hot/cold air. They are used for carb heat and well as cabin heating. The mufflers in most aircraft are not cold wrapped. There is a hurricane of cold air blowing around them most of the time anyway. Also, you are not looking at the outside of the muffler. What you see that has stains on it is the “muff” . It is a stainless shell that forms a 1” airspace between it and the muffler. Cold air is directed into that space where it’s heated from the muffler and directed to where it’s needed. Either to melt carburetor ice or warm the interior. Removal of the muff to inspect the muffler is one of the most important inspections because a hole in the muffler (can’t see the muffler) means carbon monoxide in the cabin. Fire sleeve is usually used to protect oil, fuel lines and anything else like control cables that have to be routed near the exhaust.

Looking at the picture again, the orange duct that runs down the left side goes from a pickup on an exhaust stack to the carburetor air box under the engine. There is a cable that goes to the air box to open/close the door that allows heat into the air box. The orange duct that runs from the baffling at the front to the muffler is used for cabin heat. There is another duct on the rear of the muff that goes to the cabin.

Got my father-in-law's 365 on the bench for its first tune up since he bought it in the 90's. He keeps it down at our hunting camp and I attempted to use it this past weekend. Boy what a mess. I had to hear 3 times, "I bought that saw brand new back when I built this place, best saw I've ever owned, haven't had to do a thing to it", and I couldn't help but think every time, "yea including any basic maintenance " haha. Still has the original filter and I'm not sure, but I think there were ribs in the under side of it at one point. It's packed solid! Needless to say I'll be ordering some new parts for it. 20220505_174143.jpg

I stripped down my grandpa's old 10-10 so I can get a complete parts list for my uncle since he's asked me to have it powdercoated/restored, and I'm re-visiting my milling chains after they produced more smoke than chips the last time I used them. It turns out that each of the rakers only needs about 22-26 swipes in order for them to be set right! I probably should have paid more attention to them when I was converting the chains last year.....
