That`s wrong! It is a WTE-18A carburetor. Use repair kit K10-WTE or K10-WTEA or STIHL diaphragm & gasket kit 1140 007 1004.
I think Mike was just trying to send a link to walbro website. I found the same k10-wte but I was looking for the Stihl number thanks for finding it for me

When I was stripping down my second victim, an 056 Mag II I'm building for myself, I found something unusual with the carb. Stranger still, this was not the Mag II with the ported jug, but I guess the guy coulda swapped carbs. Has anyone here seen this kind of carb modding before? These were all day-in day-out logging saws and I'm pretty sure that none of them were competition saws, which makes it all the more interesting. The mystery carb is on the left, a n.o.s. Madsen's-modded carb from 1980something is on the right.

Nobody can shed light on this kinda modification? The last carb I found with no choke and a polished bore was on an 056 Mag II Alky saw with a two-piece head, but none of the saws I got are set up like that. @jacob j. Do you know of any guys in my neck of the woods that did this kinda stuff?

I have no specific knowledge for ya, just questions. Are the choke shaft hole’s plugged? Is the throttle butterfly larger on the bored carb?

I’m curious if that carb performed better than stock or was just a pain to tune.

The choke shaft holes are plugged, I'm not sure if the butterfly is larger. A guy on AS (I can't remember his name, it mighta been hotshot?) said at least the choke butterflies were larger on the Mag II carbs, so it may have originally been larger than the 056 or 045 Super Madsens carb I used for reference. The funky-looking nozzle is the other thing that I'm curious about. As soon as I get one of the saws running I'll swap around the carbs and report back.

It’s relatively common to bore the throttle side to the size of the choke plate and then swap it in. Main jets look skinnier when the lump around them gets bored away, but that one looks extra slim. Likely it’s from a different carb and has a different size jet.

I just asked about the choke shaft because if the holes were still open it would indicate a hack job.

A little of both.
Walbro link is what I reference and wanted to share that
I saw 4, not A. Should have looked better.
Good catch by @DND 9000

My first husky 362xp on the bench. Would like to keep it a 362 since the p&c look very good yet. Just missing a carb and sprocket cover. Carbs not a problem, but the cover is since it’s small mount. Anyone have an extra?
If not I may change that side to large mount.

Could re-drill a d009 cover and camouflage with an outer dog? Haven't looked at feasibility, just spitballing.

That would probably work, it just so close that it would create one long hole. Plus with holding a 372 case beside it, it looks like the rear stud isn’t in the same spot as the 362 either.
Plus I’d kinda like to keep it original...this case is one of the better looking ones I’ve ever seen, hasn’t seen a lot of use. Might have to shop for a cover.

Go with large mount! My 2163 which is jonsereds version of the 362 is a small mount. I was running 24 and 28 inch bars, and the case cracked between the studs. After some research, it sounds like a common problem, and that why Husqvarna went with large mount on the later run of 362xp special's

Outer spikes are a pain to redrill and line up too, and your stuck with a front chain adjuster. As soon as I find new cases for mine, I will happily get rid of this small mount issue

Clutch covers are still available for 362's, I just got one a few months ago 503769201. I also have one that had a damaged case and transferred all guts over to an aftermarket large mount case. All the OEM transferred except for the oil pump output line.

Good to know on the oil line part, thank you!
