Awesome! Thanks Brian! Looks like ill be trying to take apart the old Milwaukee drill i have. Does the bolt thread into the back of the chuck?
Yuppers, I don't remember what the thread was on mine.
It was just a cheapo Chuck I picked up somewhere.
Just put the bolt in finger tight. Then you can loosen it and set it to zero easier.

Be prepared for a fight. The center bolt on the chuck is often held in with loctite. You might get lucky but they're usually stubborn.

Last couple I replaced on DeWalt drills, I cut off then put the heat to that bolt to get it to move.

My DeWalt 1/2 hammer drill was the same way. Put the chuck in the vice, turned it to hammer in reverse, rattled the biotch right off.
FLMAO! Should of been a bolt in it but there wasn't. I had a 2nd one to check and it did have a bolt. I got lucky:D

Note a way I have removed some chucks is to tighten Allen wrench into it and hit it with hammer breaks it lose no vice needed no fighting the channel locks. For old drills only can be hard on the gears.

What year? I dont recall my pistons looking like that on my 65 chevelle malibu when rebuilt in high school. But has been a long long time ago.

Quite a bit newer. 2016. Valve reliefs and dish is for clearance to the direct injector nozzle.

Why dont they just make it a flat top?

Wayne, if you can figure out why automotive engineers do some of the things they do, you let me know.
I have been in this line of work since 1993 and have yet to figure most of it out.

The dish is needed to clear the injector. Most everything is interference, so with variable cam timing the cutouts are required so the valves dont meet the pistons during normal operation. Take all that away, it would be a flat top.
The new 5.3's are somewhat similar, but actually have a dome. Funky looking piston for sure.
