Got a 193t on the bench. It's a tree service saw and they said it had no power and died in the cut. It felt it had no compression but it started. Here's what I found so far...

Good grief! What mix and is it pig rich? Pics of the air filter?

Dyin to see the Doc's vids of that Hybrid!
Should be today Mike. All the work is done.

I wanted the saw to have more muffler outlet than what was on it. I’m returning the original muff to Tom, because it was done well but couldn’t be used. The deflector nuts were welded onto the inside. The body I used had a lot of embedded oils and welded like crap.

I’m using (possibly) a modded 461 carb vs. the HD16 on it. I’ll see.

I welded nuts as spacers to the back. Not hard to do, then just drill out. Another 2 minutes of work. The TIG was out anyhow, and it looks like it was meant to be there.

Great work as usual Al … you gonna remove the screen from the other side? Seems silly to leave it in with the big hole you are making on the other side (unless you also plan to screen that).

I'm very curious to see which carb that saw prefers. The only saw I have that really liked that HD-50 (461) carb is the 460 you did for me, and it really liked it!

Good Luck with the testing today.

For those of us who do not weld, I used PL Premium to put some washers (where Al has the nut) and the heat does not seem to have bothered it there.

If I have it, and it works, I use it!

Not all of us have welders and stuff.

Also, although it still looks just fine, it is only necessary to hold them in place for assembly, but I think it will hold for much longer. I would not expect that it would hold up in hotter areas of the muffler.

Note: It is on the outside of the muffler; it is on the low side; it is against the case. All these factors help to keep it from getting too hot.

Not sure what oil was used but I have an idea! Here's the filter and then a new one above it. Forgot to mention how old this saw is! Date of manufacture is February 2018!

Ultra if I had to guess. Pretty common to see that kind of carbon even when mixed accurately.

I'm not a fan of Ultra, but I would be surprised if a bad tune and/or lack of maintenance did not contribute to this situation.
Clogged spark arrester screens are common after about three months leaving the dealerIMG_2165.JPGIMG_2167.JPG
This was an 880 I worked on this summer. Used exclusively for milling with a 59" bar. Religious about mixing, limiter caps in place and non-ethanol. Just sayin....
