How tall is that pop-up? What does piston belong to?

That 268 was approx .060" taller than the stock 372 piston from the wrist pin to the crown, Most stock Husqvarna 372's are around .040" squish. Would be a .020" "smack" interference right? So I took off .040" from the out of the box dimension on that 268 piston. THAT obviously leaves a .040" popup, .020" squish because where I machined the crown is now .060"-.040"=.020" more than the stock 372. We will see, building that saw for a video and I will try and noodle it to death like the Hyway saw I did .. Pyrotechnics good for video...

I have been dying to do one of these for a while but can't find any machine shops over here that will cut a popup...they all look at me like I am crazy and ask why I would want to do something like that...

Not hard to do. I'm temped to get a freakin Harbor freight wood lathe for a 150 bucks & bastardize some tooling to do one and take the "Your Special" out of it for those who have a shop. LOL Its just aluminum..its round, and its a simple cut

Took her and the boy to Canadian side of Niagara falls ( falls view room) set up a saw deal before and picked up after. [emoji6]

Well the ms440 is coming along had to many people bugging me today to get a lot done but it might breathe fire tomorrow. So when I first put the cylinder on I new that I was going to have to take some off the base to get a good squish but dang this one was bad it was right at. .044 I was hoping for , 028 at the most so I got it down to . 025 put the degree wheel on and got the final port timing numbers! EX-107 IN-70 Transfers-121 humm interesting.

I widend the exhaust one mm on each side and it's been lowered plus I did bridge ports and widend the intake a smigg just to clean it up this cylinder was ruff in the ports.

Depends on who you listen to, not necessarily.

I would make the Ex close to 100 and the In 75-80.

Sometimes, high compression (low exhaust) will limit RPMs and reduce power.

107 is too low, on an 044 I like 103-101

Oh SHIIITE! What did that leave for timing numbers? Pretty aggressive

I’ve taken about .100” off a few. Gets exhaust way down. Lower than I like anyway.
