Ended up to swap my 346 xpg oe for two straight gas scored 550 xpg, I call it a good day since I only had put 170$ in total into that 346.

This one doesn't have serial tag, need to figure out a bit what changes Husky did on those 550 over the years.
It doesn't look great, but this one is not straight gas scored after my opinion, no doubt that there are something going on inside here though:

2013 model, few hours saw. Straight gas scored. One stupid shop dismantled the half saw before any cleaning, I know exactly where I never gone buy a used saw..... most of the missing parts came in a bag.

I'll put it together tonight and take them both to work for some proper cleaning before I start to go through them.

Your a braver man than me Tor...I have done very little on the auto tune saws and have no software to plug them into. Have you ? That would be a steep learning curve starting with scored up saws for me . Il be watching your progress both for education and friendly interest :)

Same here I can do any of the old style saws but it would be cost prohibitive to get into the at saws I'd have to travel to and from a dealer and that would eat into any profit from repairing those saws hope you don't have any issues.

I have no experience with auto tune saws, this is first time, but before or later we have have to step into the water lol, hopefully it's not too deep!!

I have to figure out when this no serial tag saw was made.
The guy I swapped with through a friend seem to be 100% guy, what he told me seemed to be very correct with the low hour saw, actually everything was the way I expected, I more doubt in this serious shop who look over them, they are not so far away from me and I will never buy anything from them again!

How do you intend to deal with the "plug into a laptop situation" Tor, ..Or.. are you going to do the spanner work and hope for the best that the modules are ok ?

the 2013, the straight gas scored should be easy, but I dont really know how autotune react when a saw score.
If I have to I will go to an dealer that I trust 100% to reset the autotune before I start it up after I have swapped the top end.

The other 550 is something else, it's not pure scored, I may be lucky that it's only the piston I have to swap, on the other side that one may be far more complicated.

I cross fingers for the 2013, the other one will just be a bonus if it work out

That said, it was a bitter taste to let that 346 xpg OE leave....

thanks Simon, I was happy with the end result of that OE, my other OE who is uggly like hell seems stronger though.
I know I am weird but I actually prefer OE before NE..
I've only done 2xx and 3xx the last 2 years, just want to try out something else probleby why I swapped.
I can go and buy a new 550xpg tomorrow but I will struggle to find an nice xpg OE, I kinda regret.
I probleby have to make a huge help me 550 thread lol

Assembled from spare parts. She pops off and runs for 10sec before dying. I was satisfied for the night and quit.

I found my Autotune reader for 100.00. Ask around.....
I'll ask my JRed/Husky dealer today what the cost is for the autotune reader, or get an prize of how much they take to read of hours and different things, I've borrowed service tools from them before, they are 100% people.

If I've got it correct Husky have updated AT reader from #576 69 23 01 to #583 89 71 01.

I look forward to steam wash those two 550 today and pop both top ends, the non serial 550xpg has 3 shoe clutch, far as I've understood it should be older then 2013.

The other shop who had those two saws for check up told the owner that both was straight gas scored and repair cost would be around 500$ for each.

The 583 89 71 01 can read and the batery machines ?? or am wrong
The dealer give you his tools for repair thats super , and here the dealers are good peoples but they dont have specialty tools for give , they do the job only with a screwdriver and a plier

they can't borrow out auto tune program, it's password system with login to Husky. I guess its because Husky want all information saved in their database. Other thing is that only dealers can buy auto tune program in Norway due same reason.

My JRed dealer is 100% though, I've always been allowed to borrow any service tools through weekends.

I already made a deal with them, all I need is to prepare the saw for fast plugin and they will only take pay for the time it take.
Other dealers take minimum prize, most doesnt plugin without demanding at least 100$ as a starter.

Only one of those 550xpg will be a builder, the other one is ruined, blowned bearings, or crank rod bearing blown...top end has paid the prize.
Pics to come....

second 550 xpg, I feared this when I saw the piston through the exchaust port, something had gone very bad.... Gone be funny to split my first 550 lol, I am not bitter or angry, it would been to good if both 550 xpg's had had good bottom part. The only thing who piss me off big time is a certain shop who told the guy it was straight gas scored, if they had taken the time and been a serious dealer this may be waranty case in Norway. Anyway, rumors will go.....
