461 that was ran over by a skidsteer and needed a fanside crankcase half and a fuel tank. The AM tank worked great but the AM mastercontrol wouldn't engage the choke so I installed the OEM one on the AM tank and It workedScreenshot_20170525-144606.png Screenshot_20170525-144552.png Terrible casting in the OEM ports IMOScreenshot_20170525-145400.png

It is not just shorter, is is about 1/4" further to the right on a 461 control lever.

A 461 contol lever & carb will work on an 044/440, but will hit the plastic on a 460 (you must switch the choke rod).

I should have taken pics. The 460 stuff (carb & control lever) works on a 461, but not vice versa.

Getting closer lol
Came to me as freebie from my dealer, wasnt much usuable parts, blown crank, p&c, kinda typhical when an 550 blow the conrod bearing, 110 hour is how long this one survived.
Before, I would had swiped my card, nowadays I know there will always come another 550 with parts, and that's what happened also. Gave her more intake, polished ex, and kinda big MM, went smooth through vac&press also.

The missing parts will come next time I visit my dealer, hopefully I can grab a few of those newer coils also, and flash the carb up against the coil.

I've used a bit time to read up on gasket materiale, the one I wanted is VictorReinz AFM 30 in thickness 0,3mm, unfortantly AFM 30 is only available for OEM makers, VictorReinz AFM 37/8 is available for the AM, has quite impressive specs, tickness was spot on, 0,32mm, guess I gone cut 242 gaskets this weekend :D

Brand new $30 FarmerTec tank for a MS360. Seam started leaking after less than a tank of fuel through the saw. Not a visible drop of sealant/adhesive anywhere, just pressed together (and just popped apart). Plan is Seal All for this particular application. Never tried it but everything I've read seems to indicate it should do the trick for something like this. Comments on Seal All?

And another question...

What's with the metal gasket type piece in the outer tank half? OEM tanks have it? Retain shape as the mold cools maybe? Part of the adhesive surface equation between metal and plastic when using the correct adhesive/sealer? Interesting that it has a thin layer of surface rust that transferred to the handle half..., unless that's what's supposed to to be the adhesive/sealant!
