My theory(and it's just that). The left front AV is busted. Someone stuck the bar, reefed on it way to hard,broke the buffer and popped a crank seal. It then got real,hot real fast and seized

Carb boots and impulse lines can be torn when they're pulled on real hard easily.
262 has a intake block. Just took the carb off the cylinder and everything looks good. But,there's a lot of carbon,oily stuff around the exterior of the cylinders exhaust port. And the muffler bolts came out pretty easy.

Loose muffler will get them.

I've put together gobs of old saws and never have seal problems unless a bearing has play, I own many saws from the 70's that have never had a seal reolaced. I think seals get the blame for alot of scored pistons when they had nothing to do with it. 99.9% of the time gas and abuse is what will do it.
