That piston looks like straight gas to me. Notice how far the damage wraps around the piston instead of just being on the exhaust port area?

Yes,but the intake side is perfect.

My theory(and it's just that). The left front AV is busted. Someone stuck the bar, reefed on it way to hard,broke the buffer and popped a crank seal. It then got real,hot real fast and seized

That would go with getting reefed on like Man Mountain Dean.

262 has a intake block. Just took the carb off the cylinder and everything looks good. But,there's a lot of carbon,oily stuff around the exterior of the cylinders exhaust port. And the muffler bolts came out pretty easy.

I've put together gobs of old saws and never have seal problems unless a bearing has play, I own many saws from the 70's that have never had a seal reolaced. I think seals get the blame for alot of scored pistons when they had nothing to do with it. 99.9% of the time gas and abuse is what will do it.

MS200T and a MS193. 200 had a broken manifold due to being dropped out of a tree, and the 193 has a tiny and I mean TINY air leak by the crank seal. lol Amazing how that little bit can affect the saw so much.

Bought the saw as a fixer upper.
That's actually sitting on a round bale I've got staged by the barn/pasture alley in case I can't get them fed out yonder.
