Using the oven like yesterday, is there anything I should be worry about when it goes to the pto bearing who have the seal installed?
I would use a torch and heat just the outside bearing area, give it a couple of seconds to expand drop the bearing in
then use a fan to cool quickly

Sometimes it is easier to press the bearings on the crank then heat the case if you don't have the service tools.

I can get one Monday if you want...but they're nothing you've never seen before. The first one I got in was actually German. Muffler hole is bigger too. These are still gen 1 by the way. We've had a scat of lower end rod bearing failures on them so I'm told Stihl did another run of 261's and 362's with regular carbs to sell along side the mtronics.

thanks for the advises :)
I will try to ask my dealer if they have the service tool, it's the only bearing that I worry about.

Started to work with my 254 projects today.
They all will get new bearings, seals, rings/piston, etc. First one out is one 87 model, thin ring piston, not sure if I can get caber ring for it.
There is a few things I do with those old ones, modding oil pump for plastic worm gear and modding the crankhouse for air injection system.

This is quite simple,

I spent 8 hours today doing paperwork. Trying to fix title abnormalities for an airplane that date back to 1984. I have a thick stack of papers and am not done yet. If I get finished tomorrow, then I need to go get some of the docs notarized. Not a good day. Probably another 4 to 5 hours tomorrow. Then I send it to the FAA and wait.......

No, trying to sell an airplane that's been parked here for over 20 years and discovered there was some shenanigans by the manufacturer. ie, they sold it new, it was exported and then they re-registered it in USA and took out loans on it. The company went out of business shortly thereafter and we didn't discover this mess until about a month ago. So I've been making copies of documents and writing stuff and so forth. I'm hoping I can create an adequate chain of events to get the plane re-registered. Stinking crooks!

That piston looks like straight gas to me. Notice how far the damage wraps around the piston instead of just being on the exhaust port area?
