Yea, kinda like when I just had to swap a coil from a crushed 460 to a 461, but of course I thought it was a fuel issue, so I swapped the carb first, then realized I had to also swap the control lever to get the choke to work, then I replaced the tank vent, then when I realized it was the coil I felt obligated to make the 461 a 461 again an swap the carb & control lever back to original ... it was a long day!

Working on a 288 gas tank, the left 1 is junk but the whole is correct and the right had the while drilled out to large to seal the fuel hose, luckily simply fillING the large hole and re drilling in on the other tank half should work great as the original tank had the hole on the opposite half any ways, looks like the factory even marked them booth sides.

Had a few good hours tonight...
42 Special 92:
_DSC3459.jpg

Everything goes fast when we have crank mounting tool and seal tools ready....
Didn't sacrife one of my OEM gaskets, just made one 0,4mm gasket.
242 and many other Huskies has 0,3 mm gaskets, working to see if I can get Victor Reinz AFM 30 0,3 mm gasket materiale for later use.

Work left is to purchase one Meteor 242 piston since they are purely 42 special pistons, porting, shave the key a tad and give it a MM. And yes, already started to rebuild it to be G saw :D

Jeff's MS460. Taken down to case but not split. Ported jug with a meteor. Short block together.

Damn 16" of snow covering everything here. Not sure when it will see a test log because of that. Will likely just sit finished for the next month.

Al, you do some beautiful work sir. A true honor to own 1 of your saws. That 044 ain't going no where!
Thank you Dustin.

This jug came in at 102/122/75 after the base and band cut. Them's are some great starting numbers.

This is why I believe that MS440 with the machine work and little to no port work will be right on the tails of a fully ported 044/440. You want the Hemi Non-D chamber for this mod.

The jug above is fully ported, of course.
