image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg While I wait for the parts for my MS441 I may start on this 031av I just received from another member here. Missing a few parts but she's got 155 psi compression and a cool muffler mod!

Thanks, yeah it's shocking how some poeple treat their equipment...
My 346 XP looked even worse when I got it. Tons of resin in it, air leak, scored piston and cylinder. :shakehead:
I changed the intake boot, rebuilt the carb, put a new Meteor piston in it, did a gasket delete and a muffler mod.
Wow - what a great saw!
I think I will repaint this one too

They get very dirty, had to work on my brother's earlier this year. Saw would just not run right. Can't say I ever did find out exactly what was wrong with it, but changed a bunch of stuff and then it did run right, so I'll take it! I suspect the impulse line may not have been sealed right? No leak in it though.

A estimate is not a quote ..or will you be expected to keep to your "Estimate" Joe ?

When we call with an "Estimate" that is pretty much it. That is why I have to tear everything so far down and look for any little flaw, I am expected to keep within the estimate. If it goes over it comes out of my labor.

I do it a little different ....If i estimate a job then its done at hourly rate with the understanding that i have given it my best guess .If its shorter Hrs...they pay less. If I quote ...then I price "Hard" and if i get it done faster its extra profit .

I have done a job for $5.00 labor in the past because the parts lookup had the wrong pricing. Ordered a piston that was supposed to be $40.00 and it was $126.00 That one really hurt.
