A Husqvarna 266xp that a friend gave to me on Saturday. Put it on bench to give it the once over. One pull and I could tell it was not up to 266 compression. Pulled the muffler and sure enough light scuffing on the piston. The fact that it still has compression gives me hope that the cylinder can be saved. Other than some poor repairs, I think this will be a good builder saw for me. Will have to get off bench and get in line though. Still tickled on the good score though.

I was just wondering if it's getting plenty of fuel. I tune those saws a lot fatter than most guys do........I feel like they need a lot of fuel to keep them cool.
Will do Randy thank you.

That orange Stihl Vince. 009?

How's it run? I've got a couple of them.......but I've experienced issues with the reed plate under the carby.

Curious as I have one myself(011), what kind of issue did/does the reed plate have? Checked mine when I rebuilt the carburetor, did not notice anything unusual, not that I can recall anyways. So far it's been an OK saw for limbing and cutting up edgings, but that's far as I could make an endorsement for it. It has kind of an odd duck feel about it, when I'm using it. Not sure what it even is about it that makes me say that, so it's probably not that big an issue whatever it is.

The white ones have no issues........but the all orange ones tend to leak at the reed plate.
