I got a bit currious about this 254 OEM piston I got from Husqvarna today. For some odd reasons I think they had a huge stock in Norway. Same goes to 242 and 262 pistons, we still have them, even 262 c&p is avaible. For some odd reasons those things are almost NLA in US, I really dont know why it is like that.

For me it looks to be one Mahle piston, dunno if they have factory down in Brazil.

Here is some close pictures for those who is interested:

I am aware that 272 and 288 was made there in the past...but 254?
I am a bit currious if those 242,262 batches who are still avaible here is made in Brazil?
Same goes to those low price c&p Husky offer in US...Germany made or Brazil made....

This almost make me consider to take a call to Husky Norway tomorrow and ask :)

I dont think it mather so much, quality should be good anyway

I shift at like 2000... damn Allisons. WFO its like 4k on the shift. I do remember a certain prick (back when he was into Duramax's) turning off the rev limiter and spinning his truck to 5,700rpms on the dyno once. I almost poo'd...
That sounds like fun. I've hit the peg for 0 on a 12 valve cummins.

I'm trying this "conservative" chet out for a little while. The cummins blows my mind. At factory rev limited it sounds terrible in my opinion but you add 1000-1500rpms over stock it sounds like a whole new animal!

I've got a Husky 350 that could go back together tomorrow (just received the metal intake clamp today). Out in my garage, I've got a Husky 51 (burnt up top end) that I'll probably redo as a 55.

On the 350, I've read lots of posts about installing a 346XP top end on the 350 bottom. What's the benefit of such a combination? Thanks for helping me understand this...

I've never done it.....I just never mess with the 350s. The 346 top end is a much better performer.

NTN was what was on the last stihl bearings I got from the dealer. I think I've seen a slacker bearing oem in something.
The 066 I just did had slacker bearings in it. I figured they were original, but maybe not

Well I had this splitter Next to my bench. lol Thing had been sitting for a long time and when I took the carb off water came pouring out of the intake manifold. GREAT. Pulled the plug and blew 200 PSI worth of air through there while cranking the engine over. Then drain the milky oil out and refilled. Soda blasted the heck out of the carb and washed clean with carb cleaner. Put all that back together and put on the motor. Checked to make sure it had spark....flushed the fuel tank and poured some fresh fuel in there. Open the fuel valve and 1st pull she lit off. Let it run for a bit and shut her down. Now to drain the oil again and refill and get a new choke lever on order cause the customer broke the original. lol And this ol splitter is ready to split some logs!

This little beast is the top end DRF255 built for me and it has enough compression that I couldn't pull it past 190PSI because it has a really short pull rope and I couldn't generate enough speed with my gimp arm, I got about 5 half decent pulls and it fired but died before I could get the tuning screwdriver into the carb and on the next pull it yanked the D handle out of my hand and bruised my palm in two places and ripped off a little skin. It sounded wicked running for 6-8 seconds with the triple ported muffler issuing marching orders to all the trees within a good quarter mile of my garage. They now salute when I drive past.
I do have a nice flat top OEM 044 top cover I will likely install after it is running and tuned.
