Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
I need to start bringing my camera to work. lol
Customer brought in a 046 Magnum that was "Running poorly." 1st thing I did was check compression....felt weird. Pull the plug and I noticed it seems awfully nice looking. Take the muffler off and walla...scored piston and cylinder. After a pressure test I found that the head gasket was leaking. Also noticed the high speed mixture screw was only 1/2 a turn out instead of 1 turn. Nice. Checked the bearings and they seemed fine. So new barrel and piston on their way. Should have this saw going soon. I'll try to get some pics.

I bought a set of nachi from VXB Bearing online they were $19 delivered for both.
This is the route I went! After looking at all the options and prices I felt these were the best option. They should be here tomorrow! I checked the two OEM bearing I have for an 066 build and there both NTN. Thanks for all the help!

I got this 026 for free, cleaned her up a bit, checked the compression, she looks quite healthy. I don't collect on orange/white ones, gave her to one of my neightbours.

I am done with the 254SG, 87 model, she started up nice and smooth today, left to do some wire testing.

Maybe my Honda eb5000x gennie. Went through it this summer fixing odds and ends. Filled it with 90 octane non ethanol and called it good. Started it and run it at random times over the last several months no worries. So,I goes out the other day to give it a test run at single digit temps and no go. Goes out a few minutes ago at 35* and it fires right up. It was never a hard starter in severe cold before.

Was on the bench now in the shed, cold outside .It's a McCulloch version of a Partner p100.Mac PM 1000 ,99 cc .
I got it running from evidently sitting a long time .Had to work on the suspension system and other things .
Piston and cylinder look clean .I suspect it needs rings because for it's displacement it does not do all that good .
It will when I'm through with it ,count on it .:)

if you run into wacky idle issues, racing at idle and dying at idle, compare a new linkage to the one on the saw, they look fine UNTIL you have a new one to compare to
check with Mike Glock37 for details he spent a lot of time getting cozy with one his dealer gave up on

right after he told me about it I told my dealers service manager the story because it is kinda funny all they went through to find the problem and he thanked me later, because they had the same issue and replaced the linkage first before wasting time and money on all the other stuff
