A MS440 which is going to need bearings. Anyone have a good source besides OEM for the 6202C3 for the flywheel side.
Been fishing around on the net looking for a reputable supplier/source. Let me know

Junkyard find yesterday.
266 had the flywheel key sheared, anyone know what size will fit?
Looks like they used the same key in a bunch of different saws. Be nice to just get some from the hardware store after work.

I'm not sure on the width Brian. I might have a key though. Another option is to get creative with a file.

Does anyone think I can get away with running this cylinder with a new piston? This is from a Poulan 306A, saw is for myself, not for sale etc. The piston pin keeper let loose letting the pin ride up and down between the two exhaust ports, so this is as far as it goes. Transfer cleaned up real good with the Mastermind method, left with scoring. Part of me says go, the other says no. Hard to find a cylinder for this rig. Even though a new one is available(at least until I actually order it) it is quite costly. The piston, rings and pin I bought was the most expensive one I've bought in my entire life for anything, so there is that too. The one I bought was, but how many more NOS ones are lying around? Any thoughts Guys??????

Deburr the edges of the scratch with a diamond ball or something similar. It will be fine.

Less damage up top is going to give you a chance to make compression. Worth a try in my humble opinion .

I can get Nachi locally for 10 bucks a piece. I bought 10 of them for $20.00 on eBay a few months back.

Usually you can find them for about $5.00 a piece on eBay and they're good bearings.

Last time I bought OEM bearings they were cheap. Here's a place I bought from before but the price on the 6202 C3 bearing is more than I paid at my dealer.
http://www.vxb.com/6202-Nachi-Bearing-Open-C3-Japan-15x35x11-p/kit9834.htm

Checked the dealer first. The PTO side OEM bearing is $15.75 plus tax, the flywheel side is $14.88 plus tax. The Nachi I just found on Ebay is $5.60 shipped.
The flywheel side is a simple 6202 C3 bearing. (No need to spend an extra $10 on it in my opinion).

Last ones I bought were like $23 for both! One was $11 the other $12!
