Well, I got that 461 running today, no smoke & runs good, I was pleased. Used my square file to reduce the size of that impulse nipple, then ran a 5/64 drill bit through it. Blocked off the crank to protect those bearings, then used the shop vac before flushing the case. At the last minute, I noticed the case was a bit deformed on the other side, the piston must have hit it (or a piece of it) when things went bad, so I smoothed that out too so it would not contact the new piston.
Also replaced the base gasket, plug, fuel filter, flushed the fuel tank, installed a dp cover and removed the limiters. I think he will like it a little better now.
So, I got 3 saws back on their feet for this guy (460, 660 & 461), and one to go (another 660). He has been keeping me busy! And I'm sure if the shop does not fix his 3rd 660, I will be seeing that soon also.
