@Simondo, do you still have the Meteor 242 piston?
If you still have it, could you size up the height of the piston for me?
Oem stock piston has height 34.1 mm, stock 42 piston has height 35.0 mm
I dont have a meteor piston as thats in a saw . A windowed Mahle one that came out (242 xp) was 34mm . I have a old non non windowed Gilardoni that came out of a 42 sp and that is 35 mm .

thanks Simon,
I'll go and read on their homepage, it's not really important, thought more if they had same lenght as 42, their 242 piston isnt 242 pistons anyway, brand new oem pistons is like those we are used to, picking it up on Monday :)

My memory was that the meteor was very accurate and matched the 35mm of the OEM 42 sp piston and the Golf was also a very good match for the 34mm windowed Mahle.

Howdy Neighbor, that's gonna be one nice 2100. Is it the saw you had at the gtg? I'm gonna paint my 066 this weekend with Ford light gray from tractor supply. Wish I had the funds to send it to Mike for a powder coat.
The one at the gtg was my ugly beast. Its stayin that way. This on is for sellin.:) Right Mr Glock?

Actually,

That's the only pic I took of it before the swap. It had 180psi and is a super clean saw.

The point of the swap was to add a decomp and make it easier to start, so I didn't want too much compression.

The MS440 jug had a larger chamber than the 044 jug. I took .010 from the chamber and .018 off the base to clean up the jug, lower exhaust a drop, and get the squish to .020 with a gasket.
