The left hand thread might be a challenge.
Could be Mike proubly just replace the crank if we can come up with one.May have to weld more up and then turn it down on the lathe and then thread it.

Oh yeah that sounds like a option. These things got a small block Chevy piston in them lolI do know someone with a tig welder. You could just tap it back right hand thread. Pioneer had that on their 99 cc. Just have to use plenty of loctite and a good lock washer.
it depend what you mean, I saw one the news that lightning killed about 300 reindeer on the flat mountain area in Norway.
We dont have reideers where I live, but, where Sawtroll live, they have them even in their garden

If it help I'll take a few Echo's with me up to you
I've never been one to give up on something just because it's old. Good for you exSW.
Those are about the worst...last one I did me and my dad used a giant hook tool that are used to hook toro deck springs. Lots of sweat and swear words. Also took one of my Stihl USG's apart to replace the head spring. Pretty big PITA
Big PITA to me means it took me more than 4mins to get back together with a 1/2 busted thumb. The trick is letting the head loose of the ball points to reduce the distance you have to stretch the spring. Then just use a screw driver to pry the head back and then lock the balls points back in. I used my Stihl clutch spring tool that @Definitive Dave got me and was VERY VERY VERY surprised that little hook didnt break when I pulled that head spring back. Those are about the worst...last one I did me and my dad used a giant hook tool that are used to hook toro deck springs.
