Thats right and thank goodness. I couldnt handle the kinda winters Tor has. I would need heated shoes. Now maybe it is just me, but I think Tor's version of cold is just a little bit different than cold in NC!!!
*s-word'll buff out...
you two are great friends! Thanks Tor. It was simple compared to the 550 i just finished. Thanks for the great info and parts provided for both. Me and Mike got somthing headed to Norway soon!
its not only for cold days it's nice to have, after I got my first G saw I've quit using glowes, I also use G system in rain weather. Now maybe it is just me, but I think Tor's version of cold is just a little bit different than cold in NC!!!
NiceMail man came with Husqvarna parts yesterday, so after dinner I was able to put a new starter housing and front handle on one of my saws, this one a big favorite. Cut firewood that morning along side of a 266se, the 272xp held its own if I did my part and didn't do a lot of see/saw cutting, lost when I did though. Did great when I just let the saw do its job and go straight through the cut. The old Garbage Can Saw is starting to shape up. This saw has been like the Johnny Cash song one piece at a time. Nice to work on one of my saws for a change.

Old air cooled dirt bike feel and sound ...sometimes not as fast as new water cooled stuff but feels like it is in every way !! That the sort of thing you mean ?First time I've used that 272 that something didn't go haywire, and I had to grab a different saw. Still a work in progress. I should have in hindsight done a complete tear down and rebuild instead of going about it the way I did. Sometimes other things get in the way I guess. I do have another 272 torn down waiting in the wings that will be built this winter(hopefully), as I liked this saw that much. It's not far behind a 372 enough for me to make the switch, they just don't feel like a hot rod that the 272 does even if it really isn't, if that makes any sense at all. Hard to explain.

It's doneView attachment 31490 View attachment 31491 Eric's saw almost back in business.
This saw went from a brass worm gear to the plastic drum driven one.
Does anyone know if the large washer behibd the clutch goes on with both styles of oilers?
I installed it.
This will be taking up the majority of my bench for the next week or two. It's a heavy MFer and reminds me why I've grown tired of working on ATVs.
Maybe tomorrow night I can show everyone why you should never go from forward to reverse at 10-20mph! I believe it's going to be a costly mistake for someone.
Bottom ends aren't terrible. The first one is intimidating but after that it's just another job. I've done a couple basket cases....now they're a *b-word.i dont envy you at all ive done top ends but never a bottom on a bike
