Just finished up my 2171WH a couple days ago. Heated handles work great and it oils like crazy…definitely a keeper.
That saw looks really nice!! Heated handles make it super nice. I tried the heated handle on my 272 a couple of months back when I got it running and it got hot quick.

im sure that heated handles is super nice when it is crazy cold and you have to be out working in.....probably not so bad when the temps are just at freezing either.
I've tried several different kinds of insulated gloves, but I haven't found anything I like that holds up. With the heated grips, I can use cut resistant gloves without my hands going numb. The heat is also nice if you are working in wet conditions in the 30-40 range.

090G. Swapped out the chain drive gear from .404 to 1/2”. A shout out @Bill G for making that possible. He entrusted me with an extremely rare and valuable OEM tool that is used to pull the gear. Took longer to write this down than it did to pull the gear thanks to him. I have a 36” hardnose bar and 84dl of 1/2” pitch chain I’m going to be installing. Video coming soon…image.jpg

I also changed out the exhaust studs. Some bonehead (me) installed them backwards and they were too long. Almost touching the muffler when tightened up. Got em in right this time. image.jpg

What's leaning up in the corner next to the fishing rod?

I am glad the puller worked well for you.
They are a slick tool that Stihl made many moons ago just for that job
Lots of folks have attempted to improvise and sadly they damaged and or ruined some irreplicable parts.

It’s a Winchester 1885 Low Wall , 25-20SS. You couldn’t push a coat hanger thru the bore it’s rusted so bad. But it does look nice on the wall.

There is a company I believe in Montana that will bore it out and re-rifle to .357 Magnum for ~$300.00

That’s very interesting. I had not even thought of repurposing it.

Yes I hate to see a cool old gun like that just being wall art. Boring and rechambering was very popular in the 1950s, a lot of 1903 Springfields were converted to .35 Whelen and Winchester even used to offer a factory service to convert old 32-20s and 25-20s to .357 Magnum as the other cartridges has basically become obsolete. I have seen several old 1892s that were factory converted to .357, it's a sweet setup.

I once owned a 92’ that was converted to .44 magnum. Was real light and real loud. Might have been a good brush gun but I passed it along.
