Piston looks like someone chamfered the crown to increase exhaust & transfer duration. Looks like they might have bead blasted the crown as well since the machine marks are barely noticeable.

The Mac 10-10A is finally starting and running how is expected. The seal on the PTO side was replaced (was hard and may have had a split) and the points were dressed and set to 0.019" in the most recent tinkering's.
A couple of items still need attention, fuel tank has slight gasket seepage, and I would like to reduce the chain oil loss from the cotter key, it's a bit messy for my liking.

Farmin is on the right track. Idea is to cut the piston to compensate for cutting the base so ports aren't restricted. Some place out west did a lot of that. Madsen's maybe?

Out of 12 saws I got from a guy to fix 5 have been scored 
I'm working on two ms290s one I'll make into a 390 with a am kit and the other I'm putting a duke's piston in the oem cylinder
I'll run them side by side to see which is stronger.
Here's his 455 rancher he gave it to me I ordered a duke's popup for it.
I already rebuilt a 372 and 394 and returned them to him
I just leave them on his porch when I'm done
Either him or his workers don't like to mix fuel and oil.

Yard sale 261 former power company saw. Somebody ran it while with the brake on.
Had to replace the clutch drum (cracked and galled ) ,bearing , and oiler driver, oiler cover all melted.
Saw is a bit beat up from riding in a truck. Slug is as new 155 comp.
It cleaned up good,, waiting for parts.
Came with bar an 2 chains one new.
No *b-wordin was cheep 2011 saw.
Some other goodies in the crate as well
Seller may have another saw later,

Worlds easiest muffler mod. Two Phillips screws, remove the restrictor, opened up the deflector with grinding bur, screwed it back on and a quick retune. Didn't even have to pull the muffler.
