Working on a friend's 026. I put a new top end in it, new fuel line and filter, new carburetor and a few odds and ends and it runs well at low speed and idle. When you open it up it falls on it's face and seems to run out of fuel. I've adjusted the carburetor a lot and I did get it to idle well but I couldn't adjust the H jet so it wouldn't run out of fuel. I checked the tank vent and it's okay, I cleaned out the old carb and put new kit in it and I will try it and check the fuel line for kinks. Other than that I don't know.
BTW, I did pressure/vac test the engine and it's okay.

The valve lever is too low under the carburetor diaphragm

Did this one for a logger friend. He pinched in forwarder, will be changing carrying position. Picked up some bar oil for him while grabbing parts.347D5C4D-0891-4C01-A743-D3018BD51D9D.jpeg

038 magnum, first one I’ve come across in my neck of the woods. Only needed crank seals, runs like a champ.
One owner unit complete with accessories and original manual, plus spare new stihl chain.
The question is, to keep, or to sell? [emoji848][emoji848]

Another saw with a oiling problem.

Would stop oiling the bar after 1/2 tank of fuel. Oil res pickup hose had a issue. Don't know how but it got itself a stiffy and was pointing up towards the muffler...... No blue pills involved.

Swapped in a new line from a 362 and all is good now. (Same pn# for the oil hose)

Machining lines still visible on the skirts?
20230330_052458.jpgon the exhaust side they are still consistent.
20230330_052512.jpg
On the intake side there's a shiny spot on the bottom ridge of the skirt.
If she rocks too much I'll order a Meteor, but had to clean everything up first. Unless you guys see something I'm un aware of.

Made a bit of progress on the 10-10A RHS. Found that the 3 gaskets between the carb and cylinder intake looked like they were likely compromised. Had some material that was the proper thickness and made the gaskets. Got this section reassembled with fuel resistant Permashield. 24 hr setup suggested for this permatex.

Next was to reduce the oil weapage from the oil tank vent hole. Several members had suggested to add felt to the cotter key that is in the vent hole. Easy addition. I used material from a dry eraser.20230329_153657.jpg20230329_153850.jpg20230329_153815.jpg

Now I'm looking for a pair of guide bar plates for the bar, as the ones on this saw were missing.
It would be good to find another saw that had these parts and others as I'm sure I'll be able to use other pieces another time. The bar on this saw should be replaced as well. I'd also like to change to the filter holder that has the spitback gard.
