Muffler volume must make a difference. Or you’d think they would’ve made it 1/8” smaller. Some of the used ones you can see where the muffler is actually wearing on top of the oil tank where it rubsNot unusual. Heat from the muffler cooks it. It shrinks.....gets brittle....then gets gone.
Use some foil tape under the muffler.

I've never seen a 461 with foil under the muff.

Timing! I just today split a pair of 365 cases. One 97, one 06. Think 97 was V1, 06 V4? Anyhoo, didn't think much of it at the time but internally the bar-stud area was definitely different. Two case gussets vs one gusset. Believe change has nothing to do with bar plate area, bearing pocket area was breaking out on 371's, reason for double gusset.Alrighty then. Now its of possible interest i'll take some pics tomorrow and post em up.
