Here's something I have on the bench that I thought folks would find interesting. This is a carburetor off of a mcculloch model 99 two man saw. The saw itself dates back to 1954. Quite an interesting design isn't it? Quite the progress we've made from this to modern carbs. I'm cleaning this one up and then will make a new diaphragm for it as getting a nos one is a nice wish. Also have some pitting in the diaphragm cover to deal with!

Last night buddy Mike and I got started on his Troy Bilt 27 ton log splitter, new carb and intake gaskets are on order, OEM carb was $25 so not even worth opening up. Got old control valve removed and was starting to install fittings into new valve and unfortunately the threads in the new valve are smaller. Mike is going to pickup some adapter bushings at the local hydraulic shop this week along with a new filter and some fluid.
