Stihl bg85 blower. Dang carb is giving me fits. Finally got it to half way run, going to replace the fuel lines tomorrow. The primer bulb is pulling crappy and that's the only thing I can think of. The carb has been through the ultrasonic twice. This is a before pic, it got a carb kit, primer bulb and plug. View attachment 306512
I had the actual fuel fitting loosen in the carb on one of those blowers, I jb welded it or super glued it back in a few years ago. Still running today.

They are some finicky little blowers. I've got this one running pretty good now. It is a little on the cold blooded side but runs great after about 10 secs.

Currently rebuilding an 036 pro. I haven't been able to work on much of anything since fire season hit hard in early July but I got a couple days off and was able to get bit done. Got new seals in and finished up work with the cylinder. Smoothed out casting imperfections on the intake, transfers and exhaust. Also got a nice polishing done on the exhaust. Didn't have to do much in the way of cleaning up the bore, it had pretty light use to begin with. Will get a pressure & vac test done today and then will be ready to reassemble.
Got the piston fitted with some new rings and got the cylinder back on. I always use new cyl. bolts. Got a new wrist pin bearing, circlips, and gasket on there too! Will be selling this one to recoup some $$$ I just spent on an sp125. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm.

Call me crazy but this is going to be my next build. Iconic cheap saw. Going to start looking for a good short block assembly. The plan is new crank seals, reseal clamshell, and get it running.

Tank cleaned, fuel line blown out, fuel valve cleaned, carb cleaned but still needs wire brushing in the bowl, fuel cap cleaned and vent made sure it's working. We'll have a runner tomorrow!

Oh boy, all of those D tapes need fixed?

Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk
That's what it's looking like. All but possibly two need tapes and none rewind but some Blaster might fix that. I'mma keep the one "baby" tape that's embossed, possibly a spare big guy and little guy, and then maybe sell the rest or keep them around for parts.

Go OEM on the block. The aftermarket stuff is borderline unuseable.

I put the IEL Super Twin aside for now.

It’s right by the bay door in the back of my pickup and it’s raining out.

Now I’ve put my attention to the next saw.

Injured by a skidder in the bush.

It still has compression. Likely still would try and fire up if the gas tank and coil still did their jobs.

Yikes. Well, hope the pb blaster does the trick on most of em. Otherwise, have fun! But hey if you don't have to replace any of the actual tape that's a big win! A lot of em rust and break off right next to the end.

Knock it off man, you're scaring me! I take it you have fixed devil tapes before?

Didn't get to finish the Sears today. It's a hobby project that'll be done this week. Serviced my buddy's Echo CS-3450 with new fuel filter, plug, and air filter blown out. Installed a new chain. Waiting for the new bar still.

Scored a free push mower off the side of the road on the way home from mom and dad's this evening. It runs but needs a little bit of love. Gonna keep it for a trim mower/scrub mower for where the Scag won't fit.

Oh for sure! About 5 minutes worth of tinkering had it running great. Brought the no load rpm up to 3200. Still need to give it a service, sharpen and fix that fuel line.
