Mastermind has mentioned those plug threads specifically in a thread, cant remember which one though?
Send it off to Scar for some welding, I've never been confident in the threaded inserts, unless they are made for a ford Triton motor.
My thread griping about my plug threads stripping, perhaps? Yeah, I should but I don’t want to dump a ton of money into saws right now. Maybe if I sell off one or two….

Yup know what you mean , I do as I can with what I have , but I'll shelve a project for a long time before the right stars align.
BTW I thought your 3120xp would have sailed by now?

Picked this up today for $75 for my collection. Sears made by Strunk, built 1954-56. 77cc Tecumseh Power Products AH-47 engine. Has excellent compression and spark. A project for when I get some free time. Complete except for the chain. A real beast at 28 lbs.

Getting prepped for Henri. Generator is ready, just need to fill my 5 gallon can in the morning. Have a buddy coming over tomorrow morning to help get his generator going. Gonna start putting stuff inside the garage and shed shortly.

Yesterday I revisited my brother's 372 that wouldn't start or even spark. Last time that happened I learned I didn't tighten the flywheel nut enough and the key sheared. I thought I'd re-aligned it correctly before I Loctited it and cinched it down, but apparently not. A few quick mods to my 350 exhaust blockoff plate later and I had a flywheel puller! I'll probably try filing a keyway into this flywheel later, but for now I'll put the flywheel from my 372 on his saw.

Well, there was a plot twist with my brother's 372! I swapped over the flywheel and I got an occasional spark but nothing consistent. However, when I swapped over my coil the saw fired up on the first pull. I'm suspecting his coil was dying, which would explain the intermittent crappy running that caused me to tear down the saw in the first place. So, it looks like I need to add a coil to my shopping list.
Flywheel outta his:

Both sitting on the bench:

And his saw put back together again: I'm gonna steal it as a temporary replacement for my 461 since he hasn't run it in probably 3 years or so.

Got the Sears to pop off on mix. Carb kit on the way.
Got a buddy's Echo CS-3450 running and evaluated for a service. Just needs plug, fuel filter, air filter cleaned and he wants a new bar and 2 chains. Looked up and ordered the bar/chains.

Well finally got the transmission back together now for the time to reinstall it.

Raybestos gps clutches throughout. Superior shift kit. W replacement “factory” accumulator springs since two out of three were broken. 1 Extra friction in all clutch packs except low reverse (wouldn’t fit). New forward planet ring gear. Sonnax o ring boost valve and line to lube shuttle with one way valve in it. Found out it has 4 pinion steel OD planet and 6 pinion steel rear and forward planets in it. As well as newer style front pump with larger pump gears.

Stihl bg85 blower. Dang carb is giving me fits. Finally got it to half way run, going to replace the fuel lines tomorrow. The primer bulb is pulling crappy and that's the only thing I can think of. The carb has been through the ultrasonic twice. This is a before pic, it got a carb kit, primer bulb and plug. 20210822_132217.jpg
