It was spotless. Compression is good also. I think the fuel line must have a pin hole, the primer bulb just dont pull like it is supposed to. This blower has the premade hoses.

Got the Cub Cadet rider pretty much all done. Just need to button up a couple of minor things, get her bill all written up and deliver it back to her. Today I did the engine service, valve cover gasket, new carb, one spindle assembly, deck belt, and sharpen both blades.

Finished up the Cub Cadet rider. Just need to write up her bill and deliver it.

Got going on the Troy Bilt push mower the lady with the Husqvarna push mower gave me to look at. She only used it a couple times before hitting a small rock with it. Partially sheared the tits on the blade adapter and messed up the corresponding holes on the blade. Got the new blade and blade adapter installed and fired on a shot of brake cleaner. Carb will be done in an hour and it'll be running tomorrow evening after work. Oil looks like new, plug looked like new and air filter just needed blown out.

Well got it off my bench and back into the truck. Runs like it should, pulls hills as it should. Will do line pressure tests tomorrow.

just glad to have my truck back! Driving the wife’s car is not my favorite by any means.
No for power steering pump and AC mode control and possibly a wheel bearing on hers lol it never ends.

Supposedly this old Kohler magnum engine was in running shape. Obviously not! Shockingly the cylinders are going to clean up. So rebuild parts have been ordered

McCulloch 5-49. Needs a good cleaning before I move it into the display area.

Going back together as I have time between other projects.

I needed to stock up on some 1/4-28 cap screws as most of the fasteners on this saw were damaged to some extent. I will likely need to stock up on 1/4-28 HeliCoil inserts as well...

Getting it sorted the list is getting shorter.
Had a leaking injector o-ring cleaned it all up while I had it apart.
Valves looked clean as new there is no EGR exhaust sucking crap on this engine.

Cessna 177RG Spar carry thru. Annual inspection revealed some serious corrosion on this part that holds this mans whole world together. Seriously, it holds the wings together and the fuselage to the wings. There was a failure in Australia where the wings folded in flight because this went undetected. People died. I caught this one! I have it mostly cleaned up and now I’ll address the spots of corrosion I exposed. Will keep me busy for a couple weeks.

This is the Cardinal (177) above. It belongs to Capt. Clinton Johnson USNR . He’s on the Wall of Honor at the National Air & Space Museum. Early in the Vietnam War he shot down a NVA Mig from an A-1 Skyraider. First blood I think. The NVA knew who he was after and he told me they had a price on his head. He’s 83 now and as sharp (I think) as he ever was. I’m honored to know him and be working on his airplane.

Amazing! For the people who don't know, the MIG was a jet fighter and the A-1 was a prop driven bomber developed during WWII. You really gotta know how to fly to survive that fight much less take it to 'em. I spent 22 years in the Infantry and to this day we still have a soft spot for the guys that fly low and slow above us.

That was his job exactly. He would leave the carrier and fly to a location and hold (fly in circles) for up to 6 hours while USN jets flew missions over Vietnam. If one of our pilots were shot down he would race to the pilot and protect him until the helicopter arrived to extract him. He told me the the jet’s missions rarely lasted an hour.
