how did u attach the delrin block? i did that on a saw and didnt support the carb (wg) properly and had problems...

The problem I've had with this style of intake is compression of the delrin and screws not tightening down enough, or loosing tension over time due to compression from the screw head.

The fix is drill, tap, and screw a screw in 90° to the mounting screw that intersects the mounting hole, but does not enter the throat of the intake. Drill a hole in the intersecting bolt and use that bolt to pull the intake down with the mounting screw.

Having the screw 90° and roughly 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch long is more surface area pulling down on the new intake than a small screw head. So go ahead and drill a hole in the intake for the mounting screw that is the same size as the screw head. It will rest on the 90° bolt anyway. Fill the voids with silicone.

Stihl BR800X. Finished the engine side fan housing replacement. Serviced it with new air filter, fuel filter and plug as well. Blows much better now that the blower housing doesn't have a gaping hole in it.

The cement dust was easy to get off but it left the paint looking like flat orange, so I scuffed the front and the little side pieces and gave them a coat of clear engine paint.

My free saw got a new top end, still awaiting newer solenoid and filter. High hour saw with a light score.
Has a meteor now. Bg delete and opened up the can. Runs good as is,, didnt have to do a reset??
Not a fun saw to work on.

It's not on my bench because I've got it displayed on the coffee table.
I scored a brand new, OEM, 044/440 case. I'd share a pic but my computer illiterate mind can't get my phone to link up with my laptop.

I'm planning a Big Bore 440 build for this one with as many OEM parts I can acquire. Already have bearings, gasket set, and a used flywheel. Probably will use a Hyway cylinder, and Meteor piston. When I'm ready to collect more parts I will be posting a wanted add in the parts section.

I have a few used 10 and 12mm oem cylinders if you’d like to stay oem. PM me if you’re interested in one

Working on a 028 is a pleasure compared to most equipment, I really enjoy wrenching on them.
I have noticed there are a boat load of these little diamonds in circulation. They seem to be a popular build saw as well. Although I've never had one, I did play with a buddy's a few years back. May have to put a ported version of these on the wish list. Definitely a builder version for me. Interesting note for myself, not far down the road is a powder coating shop. I'm in a very rural area and to have this so close is superb.
