I thought there were 10 when I tore the last two down.
As long as you have the same number of tops as bottoms it's good.

Life sux here right now.
Mom is still in the hospital with kidney problems.
My longtime friend has stage 3 breast cancer.
The wife has lazer eye surgery tomorrow.
All of them work for/with me out of 7 total employees so tomorrow it looks like i have 4 jobs to do.

On the good side i have 50 days smoke free, the hip is working well and all bills are paid.

Poor heat treatment probably.
I have the same engine on my 16 year old generator
And I have two others
most of my neighbors have versions of them.

Well when ya cant buy a replacement sprocket, ya gotta get creative. Got a little more grinding to do that I will finish up tomorrow. My poor 20 gallon air compressor ran for about 20 mins straight but did a good job at keepin up.
Anyone else ever had to weld a worn out sprocket?

I had it done once, it didn't hold up nearly as well as I hoped for.
Maybe the electrode having been used wasn't a hard enough alloy - I don't know, never tried it a second time.

Whats up with those two pistons?? One big One small, compressor?
Maybe the little one is some sort of oil pumping super charging counterbalance. Might as well have something useful there if you need a counter weight. Doesn't look like enough parts for a complete saw though.

McCulloch BP-1, "Worlds first Balanced Piston Chainsaw". The balance piston significantly reduces vibration and acts like a supercharger. Throttle response is quite impressive.

You have had one of those at Randy's before, Correct?
I think I ran one of those, and was very impressed with how smooth it ran.

Got a 440 that should have been gone months ago. I blamed covid because I couldn't find a Meteor 440 piston for a while. Finally got it about 6 months ago. My fault now! Got the seals in for any of you that heard about my 066 build from a few years ago. @Glock37 @Duane(Pa) the seals are in. Also got both side done and ready for the top end!

4.3hp for 44cc is pretty good stock. I'd think they could get fancy and efficient with the porting not having an intake port to worry about. I wonder how case volume suffers from that extra gap and no full circle crank? It may take a big piston to counter any performance lost from the increase in volume. It seems like the other side of the extra piston could be useful for something, but it may cause more loss than gain if one tries to make some sort of double pump out of it. Is it just an air spring on the bottom side?

I remember. Heavy, but strong. I would have liked to experienced it with a regular chain. I think we were using a scratcher of some sort. Kinda weird too because you have to lean on it to cut well since they don't self feed.

You're gonna need a bigger hammer than that to get that piston in through the exhaust port mister....... :hello:
