Dad's MS251 got a new clutch, bearing and sprocket drum. MS211 is coming home with me for a fuel system overhaul. I put the new carb on the Ryobi this morning and it ran about 5-10 minutes before overheating and not wanting to run anymore. Going to harvest the bar and chain then dumpster it.

Too bad there is no mag in that...

You could have "sacrificed" it to the fire gods!!!

Saved an 044 from the scrap pile. The saw belongs to the son of a local farmer that I’ve done a bunch of saw work for. I fixed it on the cheap to try and save the kid some money. Cleaned up the jug, replaced the piston with a good used one, new rings, replaced the junk air filter with an aftermarket HD air filter kit, fixed a couple stripped out bolt holes with timeserts, new Oregon sprocket, straightened the bar and sharpened the chain. Just gotta test drive it tomorrow after work.EC025A85-F5D5-4E98-8E3D-BD763235FD7D.jpegDCB3FB2B-A367-4177-AB7F-82BBA6BC045D.jpegEAB7224F-B479-495D-9422-6B846C3E6ACD.jpeg86719E0F-E429-4029-BEE0-7DB1AE603049.jpegE1A75823-776C-4BC0-BE8C-6254E063F49A.jpeg

Briggs 2 cycle model 62032, 3 hp. I really haven't seen many of them. Maybe seen 1 other one. I believe they were built in the 80s.

The USC you have has been earning its keep. What kind/brand and size is it?

3 hp 2 cycle Sno/Gard carb before and after a 2.5 hour bath in the ultrasonic cleaner. Still need to wire brush a couple tiny areas and blow with air. Carb kit is on order. Needle was stuck pretty bad with varnish. Fine steel wool took care of the varnish/light corrosion. The old fuel in the tank was the consistency of Hershey's syrup.

Just got a real nice shape blown jonsred 2149 in exchange for a tune up on a jonsred 625. From my research I gather it’s a metal case like a 346 with the plastic case 350 husky top end. I have several good 350 top ends so was originally thinking of doing some port work to one to put on the 2149 but maybe will think of a 346 top if it will gain that much more. Have to decide if it’s worth spending money on the oem 346 top or just use what I have. Also should have enough parts to build at least 2 350’s. Any opinions on the 346 vs a 350 removable transfer cylinder?

I have a really decent running 2150. T4 helped me lay out the port timing and I did the grinding. For what it is, I’m happy. This saw is a plastic bottom so with the mag case I think I’d lean toward the 346 though. Just personal preference.

If it was me and I wasn't going to port the 346 cylinder, I would go with the ported 350 one and save $100, the ported 350 will run right there with a stock 346.

I’d think a ported 350 should out run a stock 346. Where you getting a cylinder for 100$? Must be talking about a used one that’s good.
Watch the HL Supply sales, you can get a oem 346 p&c for around $100 sometimes.
Also I have tried the 2149/351, 2152/353 and the 2153/346 top ends and in my opinion the 346 top end is worth the money. The 351/2149 top end is second best in my opinion.

Or I'll trade you the j-red for a project 034 super.......maybe anyway
