The saga goes on and on .The soak in acetone did nothing for the carb on the second concrete saw .This weirdo uses a screen with a welch plug over it that has to be in place or else it won't pump fuel .Of course I have none of the correct size .So yet another rebuild kit is in transit with hopes this one has the right size . Needless to say this is getting on my nerves . I think after all this Walbro might be as bad as Zama .--and I thought Stihl was bad at making bastard stuff it's almost impossible to cross reference .On a brighter note I have plenty of parts left over to rebuild a half dozen Walbro WJ models should I ever encounter one again .

Fuel filter, lines, bulb, carb kit, air filter, spark plug and a new chain....
Lost money when I took $40 for it, my time and cleaning up the mess it left was a lesson to never touch another one.

Congratulations one of the best things you will ever do, being a great Dad. By the way one of the hardest also. Worth every penny and minute. Congratulations

What model DHT splitter is that Steve? My 32 ton DHT equivalent (Called a Woodking here in NZ) split in exactly the same place! It's being repaired under warranty right at this moment.

This one is a 27 ton. It cracked a long time ago and they sent me a replacement beam for it. Guess they had some issues. I'm not ready to swap the new one on yet. Trying to save it for when I sell it eventually.

Actually been a heck of a good splitter. I have zero complaints.

Edit: I thought dht went belly up @markds2 . Are they still providing warranty and parts?

Yes DHT did go belly up, the NZ importer (My cousin and close friend- I actually employ his son!) used to deal through DHT but the NZ bound splitters always came directly from the Chinese Factory and were branded Wood-king for NZ before they came. Since DHT went belly up my cousin has established a relationship with the Chinese factory and is now buying the same splitters directly, not through DHT. So no change for the NZ market - just a blip in supply when DHT went tits up.

NZ Importer: https://www.taskpower.co.nz/

Note that they also bring in the Splitfire splitters from Canada and Wallenstein processors. His yard is literally 3 minutes drive from my workplace.

Chain on this one just needs a touch up. Carb will be here this weekend. Once I'm done with it I'm going to throw it up on marketplace for $60. It'd make a good beater saw or spare for someone.

Had a moment of opportunity (kids were napping long enough) to get the splitter all fixed up. I'm actually super happy with how it welded up. I was having a issue with my helmet and was basically welding by feel. Knock it all you want but I'm pumped! Tripple pass of .045 flux core for the win!

Obviously I would have liked it to be prettier but I wasn't going to run and get my other helmet from the shop or go buy one. Wouldn't cut it for billable repair but good enough for who it's for :):headbang:
