Yamaha VX Cruiser I started winterizing at work this afternoon. Oil filter was so tight I had to pull the intake off to get enough swing with my filter pliers to get it broken free.

John Deere TX Gator dropped off for a PM this weekend.

My 281XP needed a father figure.

It's a 1993 model 3120XP with fresh OEM piston, jug and muffler and 7 pin 3/8 sprocket which matches all my existing milling gear.

Exterior is a little rough but the internals are clean, compression feels good and it starts easy.

The muffler includes flame arrestor mesh and a lot of baffling, it's actually not as loud as I expected

Haven't taken it for a test run yet but will attach my 42" bar and Alaskan mill soon.

I will wait until I have run it before considering any mods, however I am open to suggestions that will improve milling performance :eusa_whistle:

Had a Grasshopper 226V come in, the original Briggs engine broke a rod with only 208.3 hours on it. Had a Kawasaki FX691V on hand so I transplanted that in. Install went surprisingly smoothly, the original Briggs muffler all but bolted straight up. Only needed one "love tap" from a dead blow and dropped right in place.

But...

The original Briggs wiring harness was here.

The Kawasaki hookups are over here.

What do you do about that you ask?

Easy, you build a jumper harness.

DND 9000 - I did not have a WG kit on hand but I did have a WJ which had the fuel pump diaphragm I needed so the 088 is back in service and working as it should.

The chain is 173 DL by the way and needed a lot of filing to make it right again.

This morning, not a GTG event but it could be. The lumberyard in town makes surveying stakes from these units of 2x3's and their regular sawyer was gone today so they asked me to run their saw and see what I thought.

View attachment 263715

It takes 2-3 minutes and about 1/3 of a tank of fuel to cut through one unit.

They don't clean the air filter themselves.

It is on my bench now, I am looking for a carburetor kit as this saw does not seem to run just as it should.

Chain is 176 drivers, takes a while to file it sharp again.

I take it thats not your saw ,but the survey crew?
I know that my 088 ran alot better after opening the dime sized exhaust port and going with a uni filter kit. Obviously the new diaphragm will help.

Finally leaving (waited for parts) My buddies The Green Machine 7600! Something fell on the handle and broke the cover, scattering the parts. Some were never found. Anyway the rest of the saw suffered from years of neglect. Cleaned it all up and was surprised to find a pro saw underneath. No kidding, well made product. 15928891-84F5-4295-AED2-945A64158BEE.jpeg

John Deere TX Gator for a PM service. Oil and filter change, new air and fuel filters, new spark plugs. Will be doing the plugs, fuel filter and cleaning/degreasing the engine tomorrow morning as I don't have the correct fuel filter and plugs in stock.
