I was trying to start an 084 where the fly wheel was installed on the wrong slot. The kickback from repetitive tries gave me tennis elbow and I couldn’t start a saw for 2 weeks. Ended up having to go see the doc and get some prescription strength naproxen

Got the lift table cleaned off and the next money maker up on it. I was able to get it running but it definitely could use a carb rebuild. Ordered carb kit.
Wrote repair tags for the ones that are done.

I've been down that road before,. trying to pull start a polaris 400L 4-wheeler.
Kicked back and ripped the pull handle out of my hand. The next day my hand was curled up in a fist and I could not open my hand.

The way the doctor described it to me was: the tendons for your fingers run inside a "sheath", the pull back stressed the tendons causing them to swell so they could no longer move freely inside said sheath.
Kind of like a cable in a housing with no lubrication....

It was almost a week (with anti inflammatory meds) before my hand operated close to properly.

I actually had to drive my truck instead of my m/c to work for 6 days!!

This morning, not a GTG event but it could be. The lumberyard in town makes surveying stakes from these units of 2x3's and their regular sawyer was gone today so they asked me to run their saw and see what I thought.

View attachment 263715

It takes 2-3 minutes and about 1/3 of a tank of fuel to cut through one unit.

They don't clean the air filter themselves.

It is on my bench now, I am looking for a carburetor kit as this saw does not seem to run just as it should.

Chain is 176 drivers, takes a while to file it sharp again.

I worked on a "stack cutter" for a lumber company near me, it was on wheels and had a v-twin engine (I don't recall the engine brand but I think it was a Kawi).
The radial arm of the saw ran a 60" bar and chain with 3/4" pitch chain. The arm ran on hydraulics.
It cut a 4' deep by 4' high stack of 2"×4" in around a minute. It was seriously badass!!

This was a Generac 13 hp on a 6500 watt generator that kicked back on me. High compression plus the weight of the rotor equals ouch.

Yup, that'll do it.

Similar I'd guess to a 400cc liquid cooled high performance 2-stroke with raised compression, piped, over carbed, snorkeled, semi-flooded and lifted dirt/mud drag racing 4 wheeler....

Any kick back on a pull start can make you unhappy in a hurry!!

I tried to start a Husqvarna pole saw the other day and the housing caught my middle finger nail and ripped a big chunk of it off. That sucked too and bleed all over.
Didn't even need any kickback to suck big time!! Lol

"/WillG---D handle .I had an 084 Stihl come back on me and I could predict the weather for about a year or so . If I get a mule kicker like the two P-100 Partners I just did a D goes on from the get go .Which reminds me I need to go to the dealer and order 4 more .Problem might be I'll go through the dead pile and probably come back with a few more that aren't dead .Story of my life ----

Several years back, before I had a hydro splitter, I split 15 cord by hand and developed tennis elbow so bad for several months I started my saws left handed.

I tried to give the arm some rest for a while, then found that reaching my arm straight out and opening and closing my fingers as I rotated my hand in both directions as far as I could helped with my rehab.

Unfortunately, the older you get, the easier you get hurt and the slower you recover!

I haven't been easy on the old bod over the years .Torn bicep on one side, rotator on the other .A knee that is not the best, kicked out on a 40 foot black jack pole .When I finally got a hook back in the belt was up under my shoulders .My leg was even with my shoulder . I could not just burn to the bottom because I'd have hit some signs I had to climb around going up .If so I might be missing a part of my anatomy and talk in soprano instead of baritone .Not good .As luck would have it it was a virgin pole, never hooked .No splinters to tear me up but I had creosote burns for about a month from bear hugging the pole .

A couple years ago I had a wind blown top of an ash tree before the EAB hit the midwest .It left about a 30 foot spar .My old Bashlin hooks have pole gaffs, not made for trees ,too short .
I borrowed a set of tree gaffs plus a climbing harness and climbed the spar just to see if I could still do it .No problem proved my point but concluded I do a lot better flying a bucket truck .That thing has no age limit .
As for the spar it made some of the nicest ash lumber and as I type to my left is some of it for window ledges and valances over the windows .Plus I got about a cord of firewood from the blown top

MS200T part number 1 on the ipl
Valve jet is the description
Is that a check valve/one way or just an orifice??
I seem to recall that it's supposed to be a one way....
Have three on the bench, one flows free in both directions, one doesn't flow in either and the third leaks on vac but not on pressure!!! Isn't that backwards if it's supposed to be a check valve????
Lol what a mess...
