Starting to get the stroker motor back together for my Jeep Wrangler. Used a 4.0 block and a 4.2 crank, Keith black pistons, bored .030 should get me to 4.7 liters and somewhere in the 300hp rangeView attachment 252602

And all of the torque just off idle! What year is the head? I know the ‘00-01 had a bad casting that would crack. Can’t remember the number off the top of my noodle now.

Googled it. 0331 is the bad casting.

Going 600 Holley my jeep is a 1987 and was pre fuel injection, motor is a 4.0 from 1995, it has the better casting head, had LS1 valves put in and 5.9 liter valve springs from mopar performance, my jeep has the 4.2 in it rated at 110hp

Had a similar build in my 92 xj. I kept the fuel injection added dif injectors fuel reg 2000 round intake. Can't remember if it was Howard's or someone else that ground the cam. But It had loads of torque unfortunately it was a beast to keep cool. Ran the tar outta it until a dash fire took it out of commission.

Don't think ill of me men, but I may be in love with Joe. That organization is truly inspiring.

All I have on my bench at the moment are a few dirty spike that need to be freshened up and moved over to the museum to add to the display. I will try to get some update photos in the Vintage Chainsaw Museum thread early next week.

2065 in for some port work. Bad gasket could have wrecked the cylinder. There is some minor transfer I suspect this was the cause... saw actually ran fine.

This is funny. As im working on a few 372's, i pulled one apart that looked exactly like that. I never seen one before so I investigated till i figured out why. I think. It was an AM gasket and head (not sure what) and the holes for the head wer a lil too far apart when laid flat. I suspect whoever installed put bolts through head, put gasket on as well and socked it down after fighting to get a bolt through while hitting the gasket. Ultimately it puckered in the middle. I assume it still ran but it had some slight smudging on exhaust side. Let me know what u think happen with urs, im curious.:D

The two that I've seen like this have been Jonsereds and both were from the factory. I don't know how it happens but I'd suspect a somewhat automated process was involved. Gasket likely gets slightly hung up on the extension which pulls it inward.

Newer fabricated deck for my tractor. Simplicity/ Faris build this particular 52” deck. To raise or lower the deck it is controlled hydraulically. However, the height of the cut is electric. My tractor has the hydraulics but lacks the harness to set the cut height. The motor is a a screw drive with two wires....it looks kind of kind a power window motor. I have to figure out how to wire it when I order a switch D0856868-5822-43D6-87E0-A310D3508519.jpeg515D7CA0-24E4-473B-95A7-74D161F335AC.jpegC202C22C-A4AD-43D8-83FE-28C6A7E10742.png

I’ve only seen it once. And I believe it was a defective gasket from the factory

I have a mystery in the form of the ignition of a Partner P-100 super .It's got one of those so called ignitron two part coils with a solid state thyristor trigger units .Spinning it over with a battery drill some times it sparks ,most of the time it doesn't . I have a coil coming from a Husqvarna 272 which I think might work but I'd still like to know why this system has failed .

Well that was simple enough, changed the battery in the drill ,duh . Okay now for the moment of truth ,fuel it up and give it a tug .This one was froze up tight as bulls butt in fly time . I'll know in twenty minutes .

It was a partial victory .After a prime it fired right off, revved good idled ,didn't smoke that badly .Put the clutch, bar and chain on it lost spark again .I'm done with that old system, the new coil should here by weeks end .Two plus years working on these things another 5 days is a cake walk .
This one is set up with a 20 " McCulloch 10 series bar using a 72 driver Stihl chain because of the difference in where the Partner bar studs are located referenced to McCulloch .I'm going to be very disappointed if with an 8 tooth rim if it doesn't just eat up dry oak .

1979 Homelite Super XL Automatic. Got it from a customer who didn't want to repair it. Should go with the basic fuel system overhaul and recoil rope replacement. Sporting a 24" bar.
