When I o/h the carb I looked at the fuel filter and decided it was ok. That turned out to be the wrong thing to do. I took the saw apart again and removed the entire fuel system, including this fuel “bridge” used to connect the tank with the carb. I flushed out the two lines with brake clean, threw out the fuel filter and replaced it with new, I took the carb apart and found the screen under the needle/seat to be completely blocked with fines. Cleaned all that out and put it all back together. Then went and ran it. I could not get it started until I poked the inlet diaphragm (thru the hole in the cover) thinking of might be stuck. Whatever, it started and ran afterward. I got this rascal so hot that all the old wood chips/oil/bugs/dirt/and stuff started smoking and blowing out the air exhaust around the muffler. It is a strong saw and it runs perfectly now. Quite pleased with it at the moment.
