When I o/h the carb I looked at the fuel filter and decided it was ok. That turned out to be the wrong thing to do. I took the saw apart again and removed the entire fuel system, including this fuel “bridge” used to connect the tank with the carb. I flushed out the two lines with brake clean, threw out the fuel filter and replaced it with new, I took the carb apart and found the screen under the needle/seat to be completely blocked with fines. Cleaned all that out and put it all back together. Then went and ran it. I could not get it started until I poked the inlet diaphragm (thru the hole in the cover) thinking of might be stuck. Whatever, it startedimage.jpg and ran afterward. I got this rascal so hot that all the old wood chips/oil/bugs/dirt/and stuff started smoking and blowing out the air exhaust around the muffler. It is a strong saw and it runs perfectly now. Quite pleased with it at the moment.

Debating if I should just blow out the cabin filter on my work car, or plunk down the $ for a new one.

Edit: my inner cheap prick won out. I washed it and put it back in. Good for another 200k

Makes me glad there is such a thing. Looks like part of your firewall stuck in there.

Been messing with a stihl fs55r. Came in not wanting to run so I changed fuel and rebuilt carb. Runs now but it smokes bad like being rich. Ok so went to messing with adjustment screws to lean it out some but then it doesn't wanna run again. Anyone familiar with these little wackers ? I've got an fs90r myself but never had any problems in 5 years
I have opened up the muffler also to get rid of the giant baffle inside.

A friend asked if I could look at his uncles saw. Wouldn’t run right, not much more. Compression was low. This morning I found the clamp on the intake boot loose. Jonsered CS2166 Ultricor or something.
Is the 372 XTorque a direct replacement for this p/c? Meteor carries it for the 365/372 xtorq but doesn’t say much about Jonsered 2166 2172.

Went and visited @SOS Ridgerider this morning and picked up the work tray for my trimmer stand that he got for me. Took less than 10 minutes to setup! Thanks again Sondre!

Yes they are the same. I rebuilt a 2166 using the Tecomec 365 cylinder kit from HL Supply. I swapped over the intake boot to a 390. A forum builder/porter recommended this to me. It turned out very well and was very inexpensive!

It goes on sale much cheaper. For the 4th of July sale it was $19.99!

What are looking at Kevin?
CFB nailed it all !

I’m not Kevin, but I recognize that as new wires and plugs for his GMC (or Chevy) pickup.
Yuppers

First pic appears to be a FW and a transfer port bulge
Second pic looks like new spark plug wires and some crafty electrical work
Third pic looks like just new plug wires
Batting 1.000

Spark plugs are for girls’ trucks

:D

Yuppers, it’s the wifes 2006 Z71 5.3L Suburban
