My 038 is on the bench for a check up. I noticed when i was done milling with it, it kinda stumbled when i turned it uprite after the cut but starting to think it must have been too rich. It held pressure and vac no problem. Will probly pull fuel line out and check it too before i run it next.

I don't know why anyone would go through the frustration of changing a Husqvarna intake boot without pulling the cylinder when it's such a simple job. Can have them tore down to the crankcase in 15 minutes.
I agree with you but this particular saw would need hours of cleaning with a hammer, chisel, jack-hammer followed by a shovel to keep trash out of the bottom end.

Ended up lifting the jug a little bit. Boot replacement was a success. Runs nicely now need to wood test.

A lot easier if you pull the 2 rear AV nuts inside the AV bushings. Then the tank will drop down and give you more room than you would think. No need to pull jug or remove entire tank. Works on nearly all Stihl models, just gotta watch the impulse line.

Should I check them out ? I'm in Greenville/ Pickens area.
Nice family run business. Joel is the owner. Very active and hands on in the business. Marty is a great parts guy. He’s been there almost 20 years. Guru with Deere too

Not on my bench but the local repair shop is looking for an engine or short block for a John Deere 345, 20 HP liquid cooled, FD611V.

Thanks to anyone for suggestions.

We buy all of our equipment for the FD there. I buy all of my parts there, by far nicer and cheaper than the shop I used to work at

Echo SRM 300 AE brushcutter. Came in for repair. Ran ok at high speed wouldn't idle. Found low speed needle fully seated. Reset both to 1 turn and adjusted as needed. Set idle speed as needed. Gonna do some brushcutting with it to see how it does under load tomorrow. Will probably end up tossing a plug and fuel filter in it as well.

Echo SRM 300 AE complete. New CJ8 plug, new fuel line and fuel filter serviced. Did some brushcutting with it and tweaked carb as needed. Did some research and it's 30.8 cc and was made 1983-85.

Another Solo, this one an old 640. Just ran it and I was impressed. 67cc and it’s real handy. After carb o/h and oil pump o/h only prob is that it will quit when hot and just refuse to start. Will only quit running when you come off the throttle expecting it to idle, not at speed. Only had to open up the hole for the chain adjuster to adapt the Stihl bar. Once I get this squared away it’s going to be hard to put this baby down. image.jpgimage.jpg
