Finally got this done and off the bench! Brought it to me and thought it was seized up, I needed a new top endView attachment 203443View attachment 203444
Got a love it when it’s just a clutch spring! I also checked out the piston through the exhaust port, the saw was supposed to be ported by Phil on the Oregon coast, and I think someone replaced the muffler along the line after that, it had a huge exhaust port, and a stock muffler so I matched up the muffler to the port as much as possible there wasn’t much material left to seal up

Still waiting on the module for the 280 but did finally get the parts for the TS400 and have it back together. Now I have to figure out how to get it to start. Got compression since it has new piston, cylinder kit, new spark plug and it does have spark. I put a small amount of fuel mix down the spark plug hole, tried to start it and it wouldn't hit a lick...I might have flooded it since I initially forgot to turn on the switch while pulling on starter. I'll try again tomorrow..

Argh, waited patiently (yeah right) for 3 weeks, excitedly rip into the box, only to realize they forgot to pack one very important item...



Oh well. I really am impressed with the overall feel of the saw. Seems to be put together well. Will have to run into town to get me a chain put together.

I guess you checked into the box carefully? I shipped a saw to a person once and he claimed the bar wasn't in the box...I told him it was in the box under the packing..I never heard any more from him..

Yeah, tore the box and all the packing apart. My 5 year old was thrilled to get hold of all the “poppers”.

I would say it does not look like it is from a Stihl, but then again, I don't know what the heck the new Stihl's look like, so I'm just clueless!!!
