People don't like change. Begs the question, why do they want me to build their saws.

I’d run any of those in a ported saw, including red armor and Motul 800, and feel good about it at 50:1. They have a higher viscosity and aren’t diluted with things that evaporate as soon as they hit the piston. He's worried about having a special mix for one saw and forgetting to use that blend. I'm of the mind the while fleet should be hp2, dominator, or h1r at 40:1. Stock or ported.
I ain't scared of 50:1 either.I’d run any of those in a ported saw, including red armor and Motul 800, and feel good about it at 50:1. They have a higher viscosity and aren’t diluted with things that evaporate as soon as they hit the piston.
it's cool how easier my small 2T machines start and make quicker rpm's with the Dominator. No doubt the RA is a good oil, but it's thick as syrup.I've been using Amsoil Dominator with great results. My 357XP still drools a little, but I've got it tuned a little fat (and it's still spinning 14500)
...or some separation at any temps. I'm somewhat anal about my saws so i always shake em before I use them if left sitting a few weeks fueled up. Never tried putting some mix in a qt jar and checking for separation though.I don't know how much of an effect it has yet on two stroke engines but I mix archoil fuel treatment with my fuel. It has a lubricant in it which may (or may not) allow a higher mix ratio if the reason for mixing 40:1-32:1+ is just to lube the crank bearing better. I've witnessed it quiet down a few fuel pumps in older cars which tells me it's doing something in the lube department.
From previous comments it sounds like there is an observable change in a mixed fuels viscosity based on temperature. Wouldn't a thinner oil lube/cool the bottom of the piston/pin better than thicker oil? I would also like to know if oil separation is a thing in mixed fuel when the temps are below freezing.
Any of you guys treat the crank bearings with something special (ceramic-borate-if_ws2-nano-whatever) when you are building a saw? S
just some thoughts.
Castor oil will separate....or some separation at any temps. I'm somewhat anal about my saws so i always shake em before I use them if left sitting a few weeks. Never tried putting some mix in a qt jar and checking for separation though.
That is a nice looking 090I've never even owned a motocross bike that the manual said run 50:1..
Synthetic oils at 32:1 was the norm and that's up to 2000 ish..
Is only KTM thanks to emission laws running crazy lean oil ratios and now they got people believing 12-15 hrs out of a 125sx crank is normal lol
25:1 minerals and vitamins in saws for the wins

Pics of the saw?Bump for pictures.....
Yes sir! Beautiful saw!! Thank you!Pics of the saw?
Is just an old 090 from the 80's it mightn't look it now but it's done a lot of work I put pics up of it not long ago of this last going over. I stripped it down replaced a few things and gave it some paint it originally had the metal tags top cover, the plastic tag top cover is all you can get new from Stihl now.
