What oil is best? and what ratio?

Is just an old 090 from the 80's it mightn't look it now but it's done a lot of work I put pics up of it not long ago of this last going over. I stripped it down replaced a few things and gave it some paint it originally had the metal tags top cover, the plastic tag top cover is all you can get new from Stihl now.

There's several different kinds of oils they make. The ones with castor I would not use on a regular basis because they will gum up everything. The full synthetic Techniplate would be okay to run all the time I think.

I just saw where you say Klotz 50:1. Only thing I'm familiar with is Benoil, Super Techniplate, and Techniplate. So what specific oil are you asking about?

klotz 50:1 is the name of the oil its for chainsaw and weed eaters

So it's Techniplate. It doesn't have castor so I'd run it. Probably at 40:1 in a chainsaw though.

i have run it im trying to see if anyone has used it long term or has torn a saw down that has used it for extended time. just curious as to how well it performs long term

I’ve been careful not to mix different oils as I have been told it can make them do strange things? Obviously you haven’t had any issues so my concerns are likely unfounded!

yeah they all mixed together just fine and so far i havent had any issues. they were all good mix oils. i just had several partial quarts and got tired of dealing with all the containers taking up the space

the gas is blueish green. its easy to tell that it has been mixed. the oil is kind of dark green

The smartest thing on the planet says Stihl Ultra@ 50:1 is the best because thats what the manufacturer recommends! Stihl Ultra for the Win!!!

Y'all in all seriousness, I've been using this as hedge clipper lube. It will at least break down in the environment.
