Do all single ring pistons have a thicker ring?

I think the 372 is the only one that changed from 1 to 2 rings over time. So not anything real to compare to. I don’t know of a single ring piston that is 1.2 other than some of the CCC Wisecos.

those went the other way i think. from2 thin rings to 1 thick ring in later saws.

Someone should test oil in a weedeater for a day or 2 so we know what oil performs best in hard working chainsaws for a couple thousand hrs...

I know you thought he was OTT Rogue, but coz of respect for your IRL experience he did just that, and your Castrol dinosaur stuff did so well in the weedeaters that it's now one of his personal choices.
So the test lab and the bush maybe align?
I didn't follow over to the new yarn but that much I do know.

Husq 50something single ring, and stihl 034 double ring use the same size rings.

Does a dbl ring set keep piston square to bore netter than single? Resulting in slower skirt wear.

Not really a question, just thoughts while working. I run with what got it here, mostly.

Never thought of heat transfer, glad I checked this oil.
When does more heat=more power
trump more heat=more wear?

Oh it's funner lol. It goes 50 on the flats, holds 35 up most hills. 70cc bb kit, light porting, squished and decked head, 21mm dellorto and stock brakes But it don't cut wood

20 tanks (approximately 12.5 gallons) of Husqvarna XP+ 50:1 with 90 octane E0 ran through a Shindaiwa EB810 blower. Previous oil was mainly VP syn.
It's hard to tell but the piston had a nice coating of oil.

Yesterday I filled up my saws with a batch of fuel left over from the fall, stored in a sealed can with healthy dose of fuel stabilizer. It had a gross orange color and acrid smell, so instead I poured it into the waste oil.

Husky 545 and 550 have a single 1.2 mm ring....at least according to Meteor. Didn't see any other single 1.2mm piston listed.

I use it for assembly lube. That's enough for me...
