Do you think you would see the same results if you tuned the saw to the max RPM (in the wood while cutting) for each type of fuel

Reason I ask is that sometimes I think that tuning to a particular RPM is kind of handicapping the fuel
Really hard to do on a mill. If I tune on the edge like normal cutting by the end of the cut it's cooked. These are short cuts for milling but a square foot of wood cut in 25-30 seconds where that takes 10 seconds for a cross cut or round about.

You can always justify another saw.

That sounds about right. I've found a lot of those quite good though.

what the hell did you do to an ms280? evil genius.

about 2 grand worth of parts and labor:eek:

I just kept doing what the guy wanted. told him from the start it was the wrong saw to build a race saw out of, but that's what he wanted.
he was a little upset when I pulled a 026 with a scored p&c out of a junk box. cleaned off the ruff stuff, freed up the ring, 1 hour port job, 044 carb, and beet his saw:)

mdavlee,

All I can see are 1. a large, black rectangle, followed by 2. a chart that is too small to read, followed by 3. another large, black rectangle. Unable to click on any of them, too.

But, I would very much like to see them. :)

I was loading it from my phone. I didn't know if it would work or not. I wish there were more regular oils instead of sleds but it is what it is. The rpm breakdown was most interesting part.

Anybody ever tuned a saw, then pinned the throttle for a tank of fuel just for *s-wordsandgrins?

All the time milling.
Yea, but no load?

I have to agree though. I milled up 4 16' poplar logs from 20" down to 14" dia with the 7900. Even with an 8 pin the rpms are much higher while milling. The larger ones took more than a tank of fuel per cut

Lucas may not be the best in a snowmoblie, but in OPE its more than good enough.
